Job summary

FinOps Weekly in Hyderabad, India, is seeking a Cost Controller & Analyst to partner with function leads, perform cost analytics, manage budgets, and support month-end close. The role emphasizes cost discipline, forecasting, and process improvements, including AI-enabled analytics and automation to enhance data quality and business insights.

You will collaborate on Capex, projects, audits, and M&A activities, driving efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Background as a finance professional with experience in financial controlling and business partnering.
  • Experience supporting planning, budgeting, and Outlook/Target cycles.
  • Hands-on knowledge of month-end close processes, including accruals, reclassifications, allocations, and FTE postings.
  • Capability to manage cost center and FTE planning.
  • Experience with Capex controlling, business cases, and capitalization activities.
  • Strong attention to data quality, reporting accuracy, and financial compliance.
  • Ability to support audits, projects, and M&A/divestment activities.
  • Willingness to contribute to process improvement, digitalization, automation, and change initiatives.
  • Openness to using AI-enabled tools and analytics where available.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with function leads on financial matters and provide practical guidance on costs, consulting spend, FTEs, Capex, and projects.
  • Analyze cost drivers at cost center and department level and explain results clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Identify cost risks and optimization opportunities, then recommend corrective actions.
  • Support Outlook, Target, and Budget cycles, including variance analysis and financial commentary.
  • Prepare financial analysis to help management make informed decisions.
  • Run and control month-end close activities, including accruals, reclassifications, allocations, and FTE postings.
  • Review actuals against Target and Outlook, investigate variances, and communicate the main drivers.
  • Manage cost center and FTE planning during planning cycles.
  • Support Capex controlling, business cases, and capitalization activities where needed.
  • Monitor data quality, identify issues and trends, and ensure corrections are made on time.
  • Support audits, projects, and M&A/divestment activities as required.
  • Track project budgets, monitor spend, and maintain financial compliance.
  • Support digitalization and automation in controlling and reporting.
  • Identify and implement simple improvements that increase efficiency and data quality.
  • Promote standardization and best practices across SAR finance processes.
  • Use AI-enabled tools and analytics where available to improve insight generation and anomaly detection.
  • Support change initiatives and adopt new tools and ways of working.
