Job summary

Maersk is seeking a highly skilled SAP TM & EM Functional Consultant to join our Bengaluru team. You will focus on SAP TM modules including Order Management, Charges, Planning, Execution, and Event Management, collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and deliver solutions.

You will design, configure, test, and support SAP TM/EM solutions in an agile environment, integrate with external carriers and IoT platforms, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining standards

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' hands-on experience in SAP TM as a functional consultant or functional engineer.
• Proven experience in implementing SAP S/4HANA TM module for LSP scenarios with focus on intermodal transportation.
• Strong experience with TM charges, services, rates, settlement, billing, etc.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for solution design, build, testing, configuration, solution delivery and support for SAP TM products across Maersk business units.
• Work in an agile environment with product owners, architects, SAP developers/engineers and Scrum masters in executing on prioritized backlog.
• Ensure on-time delivery of solutions by removing bottlenecks using expertise skills.
• Ensure high quality of solution delivery by verifying design is followed during build and support.
• Comply with enterprise architecture, global template guidelines and product roadmap.
• Evaluate product progress and be accountable for each stage of the development process and the final product.
• Monitor performance of product including value delivery, user satisfaction, support process stability, and deployment/roll-out performance.
• Ensure solution stays as standard as possible and promote reuse of existing functionalities.
• Design, configure and implement SAP Event Management (EM) solutions integrated with SAP TM for end-to-end shipment visibility.
• Define and manage Event Handler Types, Expected Events, and Reported Events to enable real-time tracking across multicarrier and intermodal transport chains.
• Configure Activity Profile and Rule Sets for automated alerts, notifications, and exception handling based on transport milestones.
• Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to translate business visibility requirements into SAP EM event models and tracking rules.
• Integrate SAP EM with external carrier systems, telematics providers, and IoT platforms to capture real-time transport events.
• Support implementation of tracking interfaces (EDI, API-based) for last-mile and carrier event updates feeding into SAP EM.
• Develop and maintain event-driven reporting and dashboards to provide proactive exception management for operations teams.
• Work with architects and developers to design BOPF-based or BAdI-based enhancements for custom event processing logic.

Key Responsibilities:

We Are Looking For:

At least 5 years' hands-on experience in SAP TM as a functional consultant or functional engineer

Proven experience in implementing SAP S/4HANA TM module for LSP scenarios with focus on intermodal transportation

Strong experience with TM charges, services, rates, settlement, billing, etc.

Hands-on experience with SAP Event Management (EM) — including event handler configuration, expected/reported events, activity profiles and rule sets

Experience integrating SAP EM with SAP TM for freight order and shipment tracking and visibility

Experience working with business process owners in understanding business requirements, analysis, prototyping of solutions, configuration, design and testing

Good understanding of SAP TM architecture across its multiple components

Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

Experience with carrier connectivity and tracking integrations (EDI, REST/SOAP APIs) feeding into SAP EM

Familiarity with IoT-based event reporting or telematics integration with SAP EM

Experience with SAP TM and EM in a multicarrier, multi-modal logistics environment

Prior experience in transport management and logistics industry is a clear advantage

Experienced in working in very large projects extending to multiple geographies and sites around the world

Experience in leading a scrum team and coaching team members is an added advantage
