Cognizant in Chennai is seeking a Functional Lead for SAP Order To Cash with VC focus. You will design OTC processes, manage SAP EDI/IDOC mapping, and strengthen credit management across global operations in a hybrid work model.

Job Summary

This role is for a Functional Lead in SAP Order To Cash with VC to focus on OTC process design SAP EDI and IDOC mapping and credit management for an MNC operating in hybrid work model. The candidate will drive complex business transformations in finance and accounting and industrial manufacturing domains ensuring robust OTC solutions that improve cash flow customer experience and operational efficiency across global operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end to end design of SAP OTC VC processes to ensure robust order capture fulfillment billing and collection workflows that align with business goals and compliance needs in a day shift hybrid work environment.
• Drive fit gap analysis for OTC requirements by translating stakeholder expectations into clear functional solutions that use S4 HANA OTC basic information system capabilities to improve data accuracy and cycle time.
• Coordinate configuration of core OTC components including pricing partner functions delivery and billing rules so that order processing remains reliable scalable and aligned with finance and accounting controls.
• Manage SAP EDI and IDOC mapping for OTC scenarios by designing message structures and mapping rules that enable frictionless integration between internal systems and external partners without disrupting business continuity.
• Conduct detailed analysis of existing IDOC flows and error logs to identify root causes of failures and implement preventive corrections that reduce transaction rework and improve customer satisfaction.
• Optimize S4 HANA OTC basic information system reporting and analytics so that business stakeholders gain timely visibility into order status backlog billing performance and key metrics for informed decision making.
• Administer and enhance OTC credit management processes within S4 HANA by defining risk categories credit checks and release strategies that protect company cash flow while enabling healthy sales growth.
• Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to align revenue recognition billing rules and credit management practices inside OTC with statutory requirements and internal audit expectations.
• Partner with industrial manufacturing operations to map make to order and make to stock scenarios into OTC flows that accurately reflect production constraints delivery commitments and customer service targets.
• Provide clear functional specifications and test cases to technical teams for enhancements and integrations so that developments in S4 HANA OTC and EDI environments remain maintainable and traceable.
• Oversee user acceptance testing for OTC and EDI changes by coordinating test cycles validating results and ensuring that business users are confident in new functionalities before deployment.
• Support incident resolution and change requests in production OTC landscapes by prioritizing issues analyzing root causes and implementing solutions that stabilize operations and minimize downtime.
• Guide process documentation training materials and knowledge transfer activities so that OTC users support teams and stakeholders can adopt new capabilities with minimal disruption to business performance.

Qualifications

• Possess six to ten years of hands on functional experience in S4 HANA OTC covering order management delivery billing and basic information system features in complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrate deep expertise in SAP EDI and IDOC mapping for OTC including configuration partner profiles and message control to support high volume electronic document exchange with customers and partners.
• Bring strong practical knowledge of OTC credit management in S4 HANA including definition of credit rules integration with financial postings and use of monitoring tools to manage exposure.
• Apply solid understanding of SAP OTC basic information system reporting and analytics to design meaningful dashboards and reports that help stakeholders manage order to cash performance.
• Offer domain experience in finance and accounting by connecting OTC processes with posting logic reconciliation activities and financial closes to ensure accuracy of revenue and receivables.
• Leverage exposure to industrial manufacturing domain to model complex order scenarios delivery constraints and logistic considerations effectively within the OTC process landscape.
• Utilize strong communication and analytical skills to engage cross functional teams gather requirements and present clear recommendations that support business objectives in a hybrid work setting.

Certifications Required

SAP Certified Application Associate in S4 HANA Sales or equivalent OTC certification is preferred for this functional lead role.
