You will collaborate with SAP FI, SD, WM, and PP teams, lead MM implementation and rollout projects, and provide training, documentation, and ongoing support.

Qualifications

Job description

An SAP MM Expert is responsible for the design, configuration, and management of the SAP Materials Management (MM) module to optimize the procurement and inventory management processes of an organization. The SAP MM Expert works closely with stakeholders to analyze business needs, configure SAP solutions, and provide technical and functional support to ensure smooth, efficient material management processes in alignment with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• SAP MM Module Configuration:
• Design, configure, and implement the SAP MM module to meet business requirements.
• Set up and manage master data such as material master, vendor master, purchasing info records, and source lists.
• Configure and optimize procurement and inventory management processes, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipt, invoice verification, and material valuation.
• Business Process Analysis and Consulting:
• Analyze existing business processes in procurement, inventory management, and material planning, identifying areas for optimization.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including SAP FI (Finance), SAP SD (Sales & Distribution), SAP WM (Warehouse Management), and other modules for integration.
• Provide expertise and recommendations to improve material management efficiency and reduce costs.
• Implementation and Project Management:
• Lead or support SAP MM implementation and rollout projects.
• Participate in project phases including requirements gathering, design, testing, user training, and post-go-live support.
• Ensure that SAP MM solutions are aligned with business goals and project timelines.
• Integration and Support:
• Integrate the SAP MM module with other SAP modules like SD, PP (Production Planning), FI/CO, and WM to ensure seamless data flow.
• Troubleshoot issues in procurement, inventory management, and warehouse management processes, offering solutions to users.
• Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and improvements to SAP MM functionalities.
• Training and Documentation:
• Prepare detailed documentation including business process documents, functional specifications, and user manuals.
• Provide end-user training and knowledge transfer to business teams to ensure effective utilization of SAP MM functionalities.
• Compliance and Reporting:
• Ensure SAP MM processes comply with organizational policies and industry regulations.
• Develop and generate reports using SAP reporting tools (like ABAP queries, SAP BI, or SAP S/4HANA Fiori apps) for management insights into material usage, procurement, inventory levels, and vendor performance.
• Identify opportunities to optimize existing SAP MM configurations and workflows for better efficiency.
• Stay updated with the latest SAP MM functionalities and enhancements, particularly with upgrades to SAP S/4HANA.
• Engage in change management and ensure proper communication of system changes to business users.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• SAP MM certification or training is highly preferred.
• Experience:
• Proven experience in SAP MM module configuration, implementation, and support.
• Hands-on experience in SAP ECC 6.0 or SAP S/4HANA MM.
• Solid understanding of procurement, inventory management, material valuation, logistics invoice verification, and vendor management.
• Experience in integrating MM with other SAP modules like SD, FI/CO, WM, and PP.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of SAP MM processes including procurement, goods receipt, inventory management, invoice verification, pricing, and material master data.
• Experience with SAP IDoc processing, BAPI, and user exits.
• Proficiency in report generation using SAP MM and other SAP tools.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to manage system issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA features, including Fiori apps for MM.
• Experience in ABAP development or debugging related to MM processes.
• Familiarity with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Consignment Inventory, and MRP (Material Requirement Planning) processes.
• Experience in global SAP rollouts and template development.
