iGreenTree is seeking a seasoned SAP IS-U Device Management (DM) Functional Consultant to design, configure, implement, and maintain meter lifecycle operations across power, gas, and water utilities. The role covers integration with IS-U Billing, CS/CRM, and PM/EAM, with strong focus on data master setup and device lifecycle workflows.

The candidate will lead workshops, draft functional specs, and collaborate with ABAP/technical teams for validation rules, interfaces, and SIT/UAT testing.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on experience in SAP IS-U Device Management implementation, rollout, or support projects.
• In-depth understanding of utility metering operations, smart grid/AMI architectures, device calibration standards, and meter reading logistics across power, gas, or water sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field is a must.

• Lead end-to-end device lifecycle management from procurement to decommission with IS-U integration.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking an experienced Device management consultant who can design, configure, implement, and maintain meter lifecycle operations, technical master data, and meter reading processes for our utility operations (power, gas, water, and smart grid systems).

Responsibilities:

• In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end device lifecycle management—from procurement and installation to meter reading organization, smart meter integration (AMI/AMR), inspection, sampling, and decommission—ensuring flawless integration with IS-U Billing, Customer Service, and Plant Maintenance (PM).
• Solution Design & System Integration
• Drive requirements gathering, lead Business Blueprinting (BPD) workshops, and map physical utility assets and metering workflows into SAP standard/custom solutions.
• Draft Functional Specifications (FS) for custom RICEFW / S/4HANA developments, custom user exits, enhancements, and handheld/MDM (Meter Data Management) system integration interfaces.
• Functional Configuration & Core DM Operations
• Technical Master Data Setup: Configure Connection Objects, Premises, Point of Delivery (PoD), Device Locations, and Register Groups.
• Device Lifecycle Management: Configure device category setup, device procurement, receipt, technical installation, removal, replacement, and device modification/recertification.
• Meter Reading Organization: Design and configure meter reading portions, units, schedules, MR orders, download/upload interfaces, and plausible/implausible meter reading validation rules.
• Device Inspection & Sampling: Configure sample lot management, periodic replacement, device testing, calibration, and official certification procedures.
• AMI / Smart Metering: Configure Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) capabilities, including IDEX/MDUS integration, remote disconnect/reconnect, interval data processing, and on-demand meter reading.
• Collaborate with ABAP developers and technical teams to design and test custom validation rules, estimation procedures, and workflow automation.
• Ensure seamless cross-module integration with IS-U Billing & Invoicing, Plant Maintenance (PM/EAM), Customer Service (CS/CRM / C4C), and external MDM/AMI platforms.
• Testing, Migration & Operational Support
• Prepare Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and lead Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for meter-to-cash hardware workflows.
• Lead or support device master data migration, initial meter reading load, and historical interval data cutover during greenfield or brownfield projects.

Requirements:

Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP IS-U Device Management implementation, rollout, or support projects

Technical Skills:
