Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. is seeking a hands-on SAP Basis Administrator to manage and operate SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments, including RISE with SAP deployments.

The role involves coordinating with SAP ECS/RISE teams and ensuring system stability across dimen­sions such as performance, backups, and transports. Applicants should have strong SAP Basis and HANA administration experience, with exposure to S/4HANA upgardes and cloud editions, plus a solid understanding of shared responsibility in RISE

Job description

Perform day-to-day SAP Basis administration and operational support across ECC, S/4HANA and related SAP systems.

Support RISE with SAP / S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition environments and coordinate activities with SAP ECS/RISE teams.

Manage and monitor SAP system availability, performance, background jobs, work processes, dumps, locks, RFCs and interfaces.

Perform system start/stop, client administration, transport management and system refresh/copy activities.

Support SAP kernel upgrades, Support Package/Stack upgrades, SPS updates and SAP Notes implementation.

Perform SAP HANA administration activities, including monitoring, performance analysis, backup coordination and troubleshooting.

Coordinate infrastructure-level activities such as OS, database, backup, restore, patching and maintenance with SAP RISE/ECS teams.

Raise and manage SAP support cases/service requests, including follow-up with SAP until resolution.

Support planned maintenance, upgrades, migrations and Production cutover activities.

Perform proactive system monitoring, capacity/performance analysis and issue resolution.

Support High Availability, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity activities.

Work with functional, development, security, integration and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot SAP issues.

Follow change, incident and problem management processes and maintain operational documentation/SOPs.

Provide support for critical Production incidents and participate in on-call/weekend activities where required.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience in SAP Basis Administration.

Experience supporting SAP ECC and S/4HANA landscapes.

Hands-on knowledge of RISE with SAP / SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition.

Good understanding of the shared responsibility model between customer/partner and SAP ECS in a RISE landscape.

Strong knowledge of SAP HANA Database administration and monitoring.

Experience with SAP Solution Manager and/or SAP Cloud ALM.

Experience with SAP system upgrades, kernel upgrades, patching, migrations and system refreshes.

Strong understanding of TMS, RFC, SAP Notes, background jobs, spool, dumps, locks and performance monitoring.

Experience in coordinating SAP-managed cloud activities through SAP for Me / service requests and support cases.

Good understanding of HA/DR, backup/recovery, security, SSL certificates and connectivity.

Knowledge of hyperscalers such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud would be an advantage.

Strong troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Skills

SAP Basis/S/4HANA or RISE-related certification.

Experience with SAP BTP connectivity and Cloud Connector.

Experience in SAP migrations from on-premise environments to RISE with SAP.

Knowledge of ITIL-based Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.

Experience working in large global SAP landscapes and Production support environments.
