Job summary

Tekskills in Chennai seeks an experienced SAP ABAP developer with 5+ years of SAP industry experience and S/4HANA expertise to design, develop, and deploy solutions.

You will work across WRICEF objects, CDS views, OData/REST services, ABAP RICEFW, and interfaces to non-SAP systems, collaborating with onsite/offshore teams.

Strong problem solving, code reviews, and secure coding practices are essential, with Agile experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years SAP industry experience, SAP S4/HANA.
• Hands-on ABAP development across modules including technical specs and code reviews in ABAP/OO-ABAP.
• Design, development, and deployment of solutions in S/4HANA.
• Expertise in WRICEF objects: Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Adobe Forms, OO-ABAP, OData, CDS Views, Custom dialogs (Module Pool).
• ABAP RICEFW experience including ABAP on HANA, CDS views, BOPF, Eclipse ADT.
• API development using CDS and experience with REST/HTTP services.
• Knowledge of Web Services, Proxies, Restful ABAP programming.
• OData services using SEGW and CDS annotations.
• Interfaces to Non-SAP apps using RFCs, BAPIs, IDOC, ODATA, Web Services.
• Consume external OData Services and REST APIs in ABAP via HTTP/REST Client.
• Experience with ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC) for code quality and secure coding.
• Translate business requirements into technical specs; strong communication.
• Core ABAP concepts: Data Dictionary, Reports, ALV, Modules, Enhancements, BADIs, OOPS, IDOCs.
• Lead technical discussions and provide directions in design/development.
• Experience debugging SAP programs, runtime analysis, performance tuning.
• Documentation and Unit Test planning.
• Willingness to work in onsite/offshore models.
• Agile environment experience preferred.
• Monitor progress, manage risks, keep stakeholders informed.

Must Have:

• Minimum 5+ years SAP industry experience, SAP S4/HANA.
• Hands-on experience in software development across multiple modules including writing technical specifications and performing code reviews in ABAP and ABAP Objects.
• Overall experience in designing, developing, and deploying solutions in S4/HANA.
• Expertise in (WRICEF Objects) Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Adobe Forms, OO-ABAP, OData, CDS Views, Custom applications using Dialog programming (Module Pool)
• Hands-on experience with SAP ABAP RICEFW such as ABAP on Hana, CDS views, BOPF, using Eclipse ADT
• Hands-on experience in API development using CDS.
• Knowledge/Experience in Web Services, Proxies, Restful ABAP programming
• Knowledge/Experience Building OData Services using SEGW Gateway Project Builder and CDS views using Annotations.
• Hand-on experience in building interfaces to Non-SAP Applications leveraging RFCs, BAPIs, ALE/IDOC, ODATA and Web Services
• Hands-on experience to consume external OData Services and RestAPIs directly in ABAP using HTTP and REST Client and serialize/deserialize the JSON/XML data to/from ABAP dictionary
• Experience with ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC) to implement code quality checks and secure coding.
• Ability to articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical, and impactful manner

• Candidate will be expected to development experience across Core ABAP concepts such as: aspects:
• Data Dictionary, Reports, ALV, Functional Modules, Dynamic Programming, Module pool, Enhancements, BADIs, Customer Exits, BAPIs, OOPS, BDC, LSMW, SmartForms, Data Upload Programs, IDOCs, Business Objects, Workflow etc
• Experience in leading the technical discussions and provide directions during design and development processes.
• Extensively worked in Debugging SAP Programs, Runtime Analysis, SQL Trace, Performance Tuning, SAP Change and Transport System.
• Extensively worked on preparing Technical Specifications, Unit Test plans, Code Review and Documentation
• Strong analytical, Unit Testing, trouble shooting skills, excellent team player and quick learner
• Experience to work in onsite / offshore model
• Good team player / Establish relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels
• Experience in an Agile environment will be preferred
• Consistently deliver quality client services. Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.

Good to Have:

• Knowledge of UI5 / Fiori development
• Knowledge of SAP workflow, Webdynpro, and BOPF is preferred.
• Experience in SAP TRBK / SAP Banking modules.
