Job summary

Jobtailor in India (Karnataka) is seeking an experienced SAP developer to lead the design, development, and integration of complex tools and interfaces across FI, MM, and SD modules. You will drive automated code initiatives using Generative AI and ensure adherence to SAP coding standards, with a focus on scalable, high-quality solutions.

The role requires hands-on development in ECC, CIDS, GRC, and Solution Manager, plus strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate with business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• Master's degree in Information Systems or related field preferred.
• At least 8 years of development experience in SAP systems, including 5 years in ECC.
• Experience leading development teams and delivering complex technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of FI, MM, SD, and Workflow module development.

Responsibilities

• Define clear, step-by-step development requirements to generate automated code using Generative AI tools for new development initiatives.
• Review, analyze functional specifications, and develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Design, develop, and optimize tools, interfaces, workflows, and custom programs in SAP FI/MM/SD.
• Adhere to SAP coding standards and guidelines.
• Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and refactoring for maintainability and quality.
• Monitor system short dumps, update failures, and address errors.
• Provide expert SAP development support for ECC, CIDS, GRC, and Solution Manager environments.
• Ensure integration via OData, web services, APIs, and JSON/XML formats.
• Collaborate with business/functional teams to propose technical solutions and resolve issues.
• Use scripting, automation, Python, and ZPL to enhance development processes.
• Manage development lifecycle from requirements to go-live support.

Job Responsibilities

• Define clear, step-by-step development requirements to generate automated code using Generative AI tools for new development initiatives.
• Review, analyze functional specifications, and develop and maintain documentation including technical specifications.
• Design, develop, and optimize complex tools, interfaces, workflows, and custom programs in SAP systems including FI, MM, and SD.
• Adhere to and follow SAP coding standards and guidelines.
• Conduct detailed code reviews, performance tuning, and refactoring of existing custom objects to ensure maintainability and quality.
• Monitor system short dumps and update failures, and take corrective action to address and eliminate errors.
• Provide expert-level support in SAP development for ECC, CIDS, GRC, Solution Manager, and related SAP environments.
• Ensure smooth and consistent integration through OData services, web services, APIs, and JSON/XML formats.
• Collaborate with business and functional teams to understand requirements, propose technical solutions, and resolve issues.
• Apply technical knowledge to enhance development processes through scripting, automation, and usage of Python and ZPL (preferred).
• Manage development lifecycle activities from requirement gathering, technical design, unit testing, transport, and go-live support.

Requirements

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
• Preferred: Master's degree or equivalent in Information Systems or related field
• At least 2 full lifecycle SAP implementation experiences
• Minimum of 8 years of development experience in SAP systems, with at least 5 years of experience in ECC
• Proven experience managing development teams and delivering complex technical solutions
• Strong understanding of FI, MM, SD, and Workflow module development
• Demonstrated expertise in building custom tools, interfaces, and reports
• Solid background in OData, Web services, APIs, and integration design
• Working knowledge of SQ01, Python, and ZPL (preferred)
• Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
