About the Role:

We are hiring a hands-on Salesforce Technical Lead, based in India, to work alongside our India-based Technical Architect on Salesforce Core Platform and Experience Cloud solutions for our clients, with a strong focus on the nonprofit sector.

This is a player-coach role, not a ticket-taking one. You will be a trusted extension of the Technical Architect: shaping designs, making sound day-to-day technical decisions and owning the quality of what the team builds.

Our delivery philosophy is out-of-the-box first. We favour standard features, configuration and low-code tools, and only build custom where it earns its place. You still need deep technical skills — Apex, Lightning Web Components and integrations — to know when custom is justified, to build it well, and to challenge poor designs.

We are looking for a quality engineer who takes ownership and thinks like a consultant. You will work directly with onshore colleagues and client stakeholders as a full member of the delivery team.

Key responsibilities

Most solutions will be configuration-led; the technical responsibilities below describe the depth you need to be able to call on when a requirement demands it.

Technical leadership and design

• Support the Technical Architect in shaping and owning the technical solution across Sales/Service Cloud core, Experience Cloud and Nonprofit Cloud, from discovery through go-live and hypercare.
• Translate business requirements into scalable designs: data model, security and sharing, automation, integration and Experience Cloud site architecture.
• Apply an out-of-the-box-first approach, making and documenting build decisions vs. programmatic, standard vs. custom, managed package vs. native — with clear trade-offs.
• Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, naming conventions and governor-limit-safe practices.
• Deputize for the Technical Architect in design sessions and technical governance when needed, and elevate risks early.

Hands-on delivery

• Configure standard features first: record types, page layouts, Dynamic Forms, validation rules, Flow, Experience Builder and Nonprofit Cloud standard processes.
• Build complex functionality in Apex (triggers, batch, queueable, scheduled), Lightning Web Components and Flow.
• Design and build Experience Cloud sites (LWR and Aura) for donors, volunteers, beneficiaries, members or partners, including guest and authenticated user access, sharing sets and custom themes.
• Deliver integrations with finance, payment, marketing and data platforms using REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, Named Credentials and middleware (e.g. MuleSoft).
• Lead data migrations, including legacy CRM or NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud, with robust mapping, cleansing and reconciliation.

DevOps and quality

• Own the release process: source control (Git), CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Salesforce DevOps Center, Copado, Gearset, SFDX), environment and sandbox strategy.
• Ensure high-quality, well-tested code with meaningful unit test coverage, peer code reviews and automated quality checks.
• Champion security, performance and accessibility (WCAG) across internal and public-facing sites.

Team and client leadership

• Lead, mentor and review the work of developers and administrators; run technical stand-ups and design reviews.
• Act as the senior technical voice with client stakeholders, from product owners to IT leadership.
• Support pre-sales: technical scoping, estimation, solution outlines and client presentations.
• Keep up with Salesforce releases (including Agentforce and Data Cloud) and advise clients on the roadmap.

Essential skills and experience

• A strong out-of-the-box-first mindset, with a track record of solving problems through configuration and low-code before writing code.
• 5+ years of Salesforce experience, including at least 2 years leading technical delivery on multi-workstream projects.
• Expert, current hands‑on skills in Apex, SOQL/SOSL, Lightning Web Components and Flow.
• Proven delivery of Experience Cloud sites end to end, including licensing models, external user security, sharing sets, audiences, CMS and performance tuning.
• Deep knowledge of the Core Platform: data modelling, sharing and visibility, profiles and permission sets, large data volumes and governor limits.
• Strong integration experience: REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, OAuth flows and Named Credentials.
• Hands‑on with Salesforce DX, Git‑based source control and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience leading and mentoring developers, running code reviews and setting technical standards.
• Confident communicator who can explain technical trade‑offs to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Consulting or client‑facing delivery experience in an Agile environment.
• Proven experience working directly with onshore (ideally UK or European) teams and clients, with excellent written and spoken English.
• Takes ownership of outcomes, raises concerns proactively and is comfortable challenging requirements or designs constructively.
• Willing to provide regular overlap with UK working hours.

Desirable skills and experience

• Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud — hands‑on implementation of the current Nonprofit Cloud data model (Person Accounts, Fundraising, Gift Entry, Program and Case Management, Volunteer Management, Outcome Management, Grantmaking).
• Experience with the legacy Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) and migrating clients from NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud.
• Understanding of UK nonprofit needs such as Gift Aid, GDPR and consent management, and supporter journeys.
• Experience with nonprofit‑adjacent tools: payment and giving platforms, Marketing Cloud or Account Engagement, and finance system integrations.
• OmniStudio (FlexCards, OmniScripts, Integration Procedures, DataRaptors/Data Mappers), which underpins much of Nonprofit Cloud.
• Exposure to Data Cloud, Agentforce or Tableau/CRM Analytics or other middleware experience.
