Job summary

Job Description:

As a Developer in our Salesforce Center of Excellence, you will work across the enterprise to help Delta achieve its greatest possible success with the Salesforce.com platform. Delta’s Salesforce COE is responsible for enabling all of our business units who adopt Salesforce products – this means you need to be naturally curious, driven to understand by asking questions, focused on optimization, willing to explain to less experienced team members, and able to quickly adjust between diverse business units with widely differing goals. It’s critical as a member of the COE to be a standard-bearer for best practices, Salesforce knowledge, and making Delta a better place.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business and other IT teams across Delta.
  • Champion development and integration standards, best practices, and their related deliverables
  • Work closely with the Salesforce Process Architect and related IT teams Advisory Developers to ensure designs adhere to Salesforce best practices and are built for scalability.
  • Deliver processes and components that can be maintained by the business into the future using native Salesforce features and functions whenever possible.
  • Use GitLab for source control and understand how to properly deploy code between environments.
  • Design, develop, and deploy Apex classes, triggers, test methods, and Lightning web components to meet business requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Kiro) to accomplish tasks such as generating and reviewing code, writing and maintaining tests, creating documentation, and debugging, while exercising sound judgment to validate and take ownership of AI-generated output.
  • Understanding prompt engineering, AI workflows, and/or model integration patterns.
  • Debug existing code and improve legacy unit tests.
  • Participate in the creation of documentation to ensure that no component or process is a closed system.
  • Optimize and improve existing Salesforce implementations so that every team is achieving the maximum benefit from their investment in Salesforce.
  • Work to continually understand the new features added to Salesforce’s products and aid the business in regression testing as needed to avoid disruption from any Salesforce-side upgrade.
  • Act with urgency and a sense of ownership in the broader scheme of Delta’s success
  • Support off-hours problems when they arise.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
  • 2-4 years of enterprise experience developing Salesforce.com products
  • Foundational understanding of Agentic AI concepts, AI agents, and workflow orchestration for enterprise business processes.
  • A strong desire to maximize native Salesforce functions and to adopt scalability as a core design principle in all projects
  • AI-Assisted Development: Hands‑on experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Kiro, ChatGPT or similar) for code generation, debugging, testing, code reviews, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce AI capabilities including Einstein Copilot, Einstein GPT, Agentforce, and Einstein Bots.
  • Understanding prompt engineering concepts and practical application of AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted tools during Apex, Lightning Web Components, integration development, and test automation activities.
  • Ability to review, validate, optimize, and take ownership of AI‑generated code while adhering to Salesforce development standards and best practices.
  • Experience in Service cloud implementation
  • Understanding of object‑based model and governor limits in Salesforce
  • Experience in working with asynchronous and synchronous processes
  • Understanding of advanced admin features - Example: flows, Dynamic forms
  • Good understanding and hands on experience of Object‑oriented programming, advanced use of service cloud and Messaging in App on Web with Einstein bots
  • Works well with individuals at all levels of Salesforce experience
  • Deep familiarity with how to troubleshoot integrations in the UI and when to lean on developers’ support
  • Understand how to get to the root cause of user issues within Salesforce
  • Robust experience in Service Cloud features in an operationally critical context
