Job summary

Poshs Metal Industries in Maharashtra, India, seeks a Safety Officer to conduct daily safety inspections on the shop floor, ensure use of PPE, monitor machine safety, and coordinate with Production and HR to resolve safety issues.

You will lead safety inductions, toolbox talks, maintain records, assist in investigations, inspect firefighting equipment, and promote a safe working environment across the plant.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections on the shop floor and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
• Ensure employees and contract workers use proper PPE.
• Monitor machine safety, housekeeping, fire safety, and material handling activities.
• Conduct safety induction and toolbox talks for employees and contract workers.
• Report accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to the reporting manager.
• Assist in accident investigation and implementation of corrective actions.
• Inspect fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and firefighting equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules, work permits, and company safety procedures.
• Maintain safety records, inspection checklists, and training reports.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and HR departments to resolve safety-related issues.
• Support safety audits, mock drills, and statutory compliance activities.
• Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe working environment in the plant.
