Job Summary
CLF Projects Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Safety Officer with 10+ years of experience in Railway Infrastructure Projects. The candidate will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards across project sites. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in railway construction safety, statutory compliance, hazard identification, risk assessment, accident prevention, and safety training.
Note: Railway project experience is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety Management
- Implement and monitor the company's Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies at project sites.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory safety regulations and client safety requirements.
- Develop and enforce safe work practices across all construction activities.
2. Railway Project Safety
- Monitor safety compliance during railway construction activities.
- Ensure safe execution of bridge works, track works, earthwork, structural works, and other railway infrastructure activities.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure compliance with Railway safety standards and client requirements.
3. Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment
- Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) for project activities.
- Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Implement preventive measures to minimize workplace risks.
4. Site Inspections & Audits
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and periodic safety audits.
- Monitor compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
- Prepare inspection reports and track closure of observations.
5. Training & Awareness
- Conduct safety induction for new employees and contractors.
- Organize toolbox talks, safety meetings, emergency drills, and awareness programs.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the project.
6. Incident Investigation
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare incident investigation reports and maintain records.
7. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety laws, labour regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Coordinate with government authorities and client representatives during inspections and audits.
- Maintain all statutory registers and safety documentation.
8. Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and implement emergency response plans.
- Conduct mock drills and ensure availability of emergency equipment.
- Coordinate emergency response activities during incidents.
9. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly HSE reports.
- Maintain records of safety inspections, training, incidents, PPE issuance, and statutory compliance.
- Submit safety reports to management and clients within prescribed timelines.
10. PPE & Safety Equipment Management
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all employees.
- Monitor the availability and condition of fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, barricading, signage, and other safety equipment.
- Ensure timely replacement and maintenance of safety equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical or related discipline).
- Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety or NEBOSH/IOSH (Mandatory).
- Additional HSE certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Safety Officer.
- Mandatory experience in Railway Infrastructure Projects.
- Experience in EPC, Construction, Bridge, ROB/RUB, Track, Earthwork, or Metro projects is preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of experience in Railway Infrastructure Projects.
- Strong knowledge of Indian Railway safety standards and construction safety practices.
- Experience handling large-scale infrastructure and EPC projects.
- Ability to independently manage all HSE activities at project sites.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel and work from the Pune location as per project requirements.
