Job summary

Techno Engineering And Solutions Pune is seeking a responsible Safety Officer to enforce safe practices across LPG and PNG pipeline projects. You will implement safety procedures, conduct inspections, identify hazards, and ensure compliance with company safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering or relevant field.
• Diploma/Certificate in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH / IOSH will be an added advantage.
• Relevant LPG/PNG/gas pipeline construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies and safety procedures at project sites.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify hazards.
• Ensure safe practices during LPG/PNG pipeline installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Conduct Toolbox Talks, safety inductions, and daily briefings.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety rules.
• Monitor hot work, excavation, work at height, confined space, lifting, and other high-risk activities.
• Ensure work permits are in place and safety precautions are followed.
• Monitor gas-related hazards and associated precautions.
• Conduct emergency drills and ensure understood emergency procedures.
• Report and investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain safety inspection reports and training records.

Job description

We are looking for a responsible and experienced Safety Officer to ensure safe working practices across LPG & PNG pipeline installation and project sites. The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety procedures, conducting inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with company and applicable safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies and safety procedures at project and work sites.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify potential hazards and unsafe practices.
• Ensure safe working practices during LPG & PNG pipeline installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Conduct Toolbox Talks, Safety Inductions, and daily safety briefings for workers and site staff.
• Ensure proper use of PPE such as helmets, safety shoes, gloves, goggles, harnesses, and other required equipment.
• Monitor hot work, excavation, work at height, confined space, lifting, and other high-risk activities.
• Ensure proper implementation of work permits and safety precautions before starting hazardous activities.
• Monitor gas-related hazards and ensure appropriate precautions are followed during LPG/PNG work.
• Conduct emergency preparedness drills and ensure emergency response procedures are understood by site personnel.
• Report and investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain safety inspection reports, incident records, training records, and other HSE documentation.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, contractors, and workers regarding safety matters.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safe storage/handling of materials and equipment.
• Stop unsafe work when necessary and immediately report serious safety violations to management.
• Conduct regular safety training and awareness programs for employees and workers.
• Monitor compliance with applicable statutory, client, and company safety requirements.
• Assist management in implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of LPG & PNG pipeline safety practices.
• Knowledge of gas pipeline installation and construction-site hazards.
• Good understanding of PPE, Permit-to-Work, Toolbox Talks, Risk Assessment, JSA/JHA, and HSE procedures.
• Good incident reporting and investigation skills.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively with site teams, contractors, and workers.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to handle emergency situations responsibly.

Qualification

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering or relevant field.
• Diploma/Certificate in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH / IOSH will be an added advantage.
• Relevant experience in LPG, PNG, gas pipeline, construction, MEP, or industrial projects preferred.
