Job description

Position Overview

As a Safety Officer III (SO3), you will enforce compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) and lead the site’s safety program.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain site‑specific Safety and Health Programs.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits at project sites.
• Ensure workers use proper PPE and identify workplace hazards, recommending corrective actions.
• Conduct safety orientations for new employees and subcontractors.
• Lead toolbox meetings, safety drills, and emergency response training.
• Investigate workplace accidents, near‑misses, and hazardous occurrences.
• Prepare accident/incident reports and recommend preventive measures.
• Maintain records of safety permits, accident logs, and safety reports.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly Safety and Health Reports for management and DOLE.
• Ensure proper posting of safety signages and DOLE‑mandated notices.
• Act as the point person for all safety‑related matters at the project/site.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and management to ensure safety compliance.
• Lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT) in case of incidents.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Occupational Safety and Health in construction, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
• Hands‑on experience in safety inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, safety program implementation, and DOLE compliance.
• Advanced Occupational Safety and Health (AOSH) 40‑hour training from a DOLE‑accredited provider.
• Designation and accreditation as a Safety Officer III by the company.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or related fields (non‑degree holders accepted if DOLE training and experience requirements met).
• Preferred additional certifications: BOSH, COSH, BLS, Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness, and/or Incident Command System (ICS).
