Job summary

Amara Raja Group is seeking a Safety Officer to implement HSE policies at construction sites, conduct inspections and risk assessments, and ensure safe execution of works such as excavation, scaffolding, RCC and masonry. You will monitor work at height, electrical, hot work and confined space activities, ensure PPE usage and contractor safety compliance.

You will lead toolbox talks, inductions and training, prepare JSA, risk assessments, method statements and PTW, inspect equipment and access

Qualifications

• Experience implementing HSE policies on construction sites.
• Hands-on knowledge of risk assessment and JSA processes.
• Familiar with PTW, PPE requirements, and safety audits.
• Experience with site inspections and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Implement HSE policies and safety standards at the construction site.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Ensure safe execution of excavation, scaffolding, shuttering, RCC, masonry and finishing works.
• Monitor work at height, lifting, electrical, hot work, and confined space activities.
• Ensure proper PPE usage and contractor safety compliance.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training programs.
• Prepare and implement JSA, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and PTW.
• Inspect scaffolding, lifting equipment, safety nets, barricading and access areas.
• Investigate accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records, reports and statutory documentation.
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors and subcontractors on safety matters.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, IS, client and project EHS requirements.
• Monitor housekeeping, fire safety, emergency preparedness and first aid.
• Conduct/support mock drills and emergency response activities.
• Track and close safety observations and corrective actions.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience in Residential, Commercial, High-Rise, Institutional or Industrial preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HSE practices, Risk Assessment, JSA, PTW, PPE, and safety audits.

• Hands-on experience in work-at-height, scaffolding, lifting, electrical, excavation, and fire safety.
• Good knowledge of construction safety standards, statutory requirements, and client EHS procedures
