Job summary

Ruvik Build Tech is seeking a Safety Engineer to oversee site safety at high-rise construction projects in India. You will conduct daily inspections, enforce PPE usage, and drive risk assessments, JSA/JHA, and method statements.

You will implement PTW, inspect equipment, and ensure operators are competent. The role requires 6–8 years in high-rise projects and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• BSc / Diploma / Degree in Engineering.
• ADIS / Diploma / Post Diploma / Degree in Industrial Safety and NEBOSH-IGC.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience in High Rise Building Project.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English with good presentation and communication skill
• Able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of the construction site and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
• Prepare and review Risk Assessments, JSA/JHA, and Method Statements; identify hazards and recommend controls.
• Implement and monitor the PTW system and ensure work starts only after controls are in place.
• Inspect scaffolding, ladders, platforms, guardrails, and lifelines; enforce use of fall protection.
• Inspect cranes, lifting equipment, vehicles, power tools, and machinery; ensure competent operators.
• Inspect excavations for stability and safe access; monitor shoring and barricades.
• Monitor temporary electrical installations; prevent unsafe connections and unapproved work.
• Ensure availability of fire extinguishers and conduct emergency drills and trainings.
• Ensure workers use PPE and conduct toolbox talks and induction training.
• Report and investigate accidents and near misses; maintain records and root-cause analyses.
• Monitor contractor safety documentation and conduct safety meetings and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with EHS requirements and project regulations; maintain records.

Job Descriptions:

Conduct daily inspections of the construction site. Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. Ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly. Monitor neat & clean access routes, lighting, barricading and signage.

Prepare and review Risk Assessments, JSA/JHA, and Method Statements. Identify hazards associated with construction activities. Recommend suitable control measures according to the hierarchy of controls.

Implement and monitor the Permit to Work (PTW) system. Ensure work starts only after required safety controls are in place.

Inspect scaffolding, ladders, platforms, guardrails, and lifelines. Ensure proper use of full-body harnesses and fall-arrest systems. Control risks associated with openings, edges, roofs, and
elevated work.

Inspect cranes, lifting equipment, vehicles, power tools, and machinery. Ensure operators are competent and authorized. Monitor compliance with lifting plans and safe operating procedures.

Inspect excavations for collapse, water accumulation, access/egress, and hazardous conditions. Ensure appropriate shoring, sloping, barricading, and access arrangements.

Monitor temporary electrical installations. Check earthing, ELCB/RCCB, cables, distribution boards, and electrical tools. Prevent unauthorized electrical work and unsafe connections.

Ensure availability and accessibility of fire extinguishers and emergency equipment. Conduct emergency drills. Maintain emergency response and evacuation procedures.

Ensure workers use appropriate PPE such as helmets, safety shoes, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and fall protection. Conduct PPE inspections and awareness programs.

Conduct toolbox talks and daily safety briefings. Provide induction training to new workers and contractors. Conduct activity-specific safety training.

Report and investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences. Identify root causes and recommend corrective/preventive actions. Maintain incident and safety records.

Monitor contractors and subcontractors for compliance with project safety requirements. Review contractor safety documentation. Conduct contractor safety meetings and inspections.

Ensure compliance with applicable EHS requirements, construction regulations, environmental requirements, and company EHS procedures. Maintain required statutory
and inspection records.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports. Maintain inspection checklists, PTW records, training records, incident reports, and corrective-action registers. Track safety KPIs such as near misses, inspections, training hours, and incidents.

Ensure the Project Safety Plan is maintained and adopted on site.

Monitor and ensure that all visitors to the project have signed the site attendance / visitors register and are always escorted unless they have been formally inducted.

Requirements:

BSc / Diploma / Degree in Engineering.
ADIS / Diploma / Post Diploma / Degree in Industrial Safety and NEBOSH-IGC.
6 - 8years of relevant experience in High Rise Building Project.
Proficiency in both written and spoken English with good presentation and communication skill
