JOB DESCRIPTION SAFETY MANAGER (O&M)

Project: Mumbai Pune Expressway Missing Link Project
Location: Maharashtra Lonavala
Experience: 15-20 Years

Reporting To: Project Head / HSE Head

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Safety Manager - O&M to lead HSE operations for the O&M phase of a major highway, tunnel and viaduct infrastructure project. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe operations, statutory compliance, contractor safety and emergency preparedness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall HSE activities for highway, tunnel and viaduct O&M.
• Implement HSE plans, policies, procedures, KPIs and safety standards.
• Conduct HIRA/JSA, PTW, LOTO, safety inspections and audits.
• Ensure safe execution of maintenance, traffic management and high-risk activities.
• Manage contractor/subcontractor HSE performance and compliance.
• Lead incident investigation, RCA, CAPA and near-miss reporting.
• Develop and conduct emergency response plans, mock drills and tunnel emergency exercises.
• Ensure compliance with applicable statutory, client and project HSE requirements.
• Conduct safety training, inductions, toolbox talks and awareness programs.
• Prepare and present HSE reports, dashboards and performance statistics to management/client.
• Coordinate with Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance and other emergency agencies when required.

Qualification & Experience

• Degree/Diploma in Engineering - Any.
• ADIS/DIS preferred; NEBOSH/IOSH will be an added advantage.
• 15-20 years of HSE/Safety experience.
• Strong experience in Highway/Expressway/Tunnel/Bridge/EPC/O&M projects.
• Experience in managing HSE teams, contractors and multiple stakeholders.
• Hands-on knowledge of tunnel safety, highway safety, traffic management, emergency response and statutory compliance.

A senior HSE professional capable of independently managing the complete safety function for a complex highway, tunnel and viaduct O&M project, with strong leadership, communication, emergency-management and contractor-management skills.
