Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy in Mumbai seeks a Safety & Compliance Lead to oversee plant safety policies, risk assessments, and regulatory adherence at our Mumbai operations.

The role includes fire & emergency planning, incident investigation, and documentation, with a strong emphasis on training, safety awareness, and contractor safety management to ensure a safe workplace.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor plant safety policies in line with statutory and corporate HSE standards.
• Ensure compliance with Factories Act, State Safety Rules, Fire Safety, and local regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with government authorities, safety inspectors, and auditors.
• Conduct Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety audits.
• Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain incident records and safety performance reports.
• Conduct safety induction and regular training programs for employees and contractors.
• Promote safety awareness campaigns, mock drills, fire drills, and emergency preparedness programs.
• Ensure contractor safety management and compliance at site.
• Oversee fire detection, firefighting systems, and emergency evacuation plans.
• Coordinate with external fire departments and emergency response teams.
• Lead emergency response during incidents and drills.
• Maintain safety documentation, permits, MSDS, SOPs, and statutory registers.
• Prepare monthly safety reports, KPIs, and compliance dashboards for management review.
