Job summary

Rex Global invites an experienced Safety Head to lead Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) across mining and processing operations in India. You will develop, implement, and monitor HSE systems to achieve zero harm, ensuring compliance with DGMS, Mines Act, and Factory Act, while driving proactive risk management.

The role requires 10–15 years in mining or heavy manufacturing, a B.E./B.Tech in engineering, ADIS/PDIS, and NEBOSH/IOSH credentials, with strong leadership and stakeholder skills.

Qualifications

  • 10 to 15 years in Mining, Mineral Processing, Cement, or Heavy Manufacturing Industry.
  • B.E./B.Tech in Engineering (Mechanical / Mining / Civil / Electrical or related discipline).
  • Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS/PDIS) or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or other internationally recognized safety certifications will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with DGMS, Factory Act, Mines Act, and all applicable statutory regulations.
  • Lead safety activities of all assigned activities at Site.
  • Conduct Daily safety talks, hazard identification, risk assessments (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Plan and conduct safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews across mines and processing plants.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure PTW, LOTO, Confined Space Entry, Work at Height, and Hot Work procedures are followed.
  • Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure site safety standards.
  • Organize safety induction programs, toolbox talks, emergency drills, and training.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness plans including fire safety, mine rescue, and evacuation.

Job Summary

The Safety Head will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring all Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) systems across mining operations, mineral processing areas, construction, project execution, erection, commissioning activities. The role ensures compliance with statutory safety regulations, promotes a strong safety culture, and aims to achieve zero harm through proactive risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with DGMS, Factory Act, Mines Act, and all applicable statutory regulations.
  • Lead safety activities of all assigned activities at Site
  • Conduct Daily safety talks, hazard identification, risk assessments (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and implement effective control measures.
  • Plan and conduct safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews across mines and processing plants.
  • Investigate incidents, if any accidents, and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure effective implementation of Permit‑to‑Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Work at Height, and Hot Work procedures.
  • Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with site safety standards. Ensure permits for all prescribed activities, safety qualifications/certifications for the contractors' safety teams deployed at site.
  • Organize safety induction programs, toolbox talks, emergency response drills, mock drills and periodic employee training.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness plans including fire safety, mine rescue, evacuation, and disaster management.
  • Monitor occupational health initiatives, PPE compliance, and industrial hygiene practices.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports and maintain all safety documentation.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement and behavioral safety programs.
  • Coordinate with government authorities during inspections and regulatory audits.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in safety performance and drive initiatives toward achieving zero accidents.
  • Ensure availability of fire safety equipment, tools and conduct periodic verifications.
