Job summary

Leadership Talent Hunters is seeking an Assistant Manager HSE (Corporate) for a leading manufacturer of road construction products. The role covers HSE management systems, audits, plant governance, project safety, transport safety, incident management, and sustainability initiatives.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree with 5–8 years of HSE experience in process industries and possesses ADIS/NEBOSH qualifications.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in chemical, mechanical, industrial or environmental fields with 5-8 years of HSE experience in manufacturing or related industries.
• Strong expertise in HSE management systems, audits, CAPA tracking, and KPI monitoring.
• Travel requirement of 30-40% across India for audits, inspections and project reviews.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ISO 14001, 45001, 9001 systems and coordinate audits and CAPA tracking.
• Conduct HSE audits across plants, depots, and corporate offices and ensure statutory compliance.
• Oversee HSE for greenfield and brownfield projects and review safety plans and permits.
• Enforce transport safety standards, GPS tracking, and transporter compliance; lead transporter audits.
• Investigate near misses and incidents; drive corrective actions and publish safety alerts.
• Evaluate contractor and transporter HSE competency and enforce compliance procedures.
• Execute annual HSE training calendar (DDT, First Aid, Firefighting, BBS) and maintain training records.
• Drive ESG initiatives, EPR, and environmental compliance; track energy, water, waste, and carbon KPIs.
• Coordinate mock drills, Emergency Response Plans, and facility readiness assessments.
• Generate monthly/quarterly/annual HSE dashboards and trend analyses.

Job description

We are seeking an Assistant Manager HSE (Corporate) for a leading manufacturer of Road Construction Products.

Job Profile:

1. HSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Maintain ISO 14001, 45001, and 9001 systems; coordinate internal/external audits and CAPA tracking.

Manage corporate HSE procedures, standards, and manual updates.

2. PLANT HSE GOVERNANCE

Conduct HSE audits across owned/third-party plants, depots, and corporate offices.

Ensure statutory compliance and monitor plant safety KPI trends.

3. PROJECT HSE MANAGEMENT

Oversee HSE for greenfield and brownfield projects.

Review contractor safety plans, risk assessments, permits, and safe man-hours.

4. TRANSPORT SAFETY MANAGEMENT

Enforce transport safety standards, GPS tracking, and tanker/transporter compliance.

Lead transporter audits, incident tracking, telematics, and Defensive Driving Training (DDT).

5. INCIDENT MANAGEMENT

Investigate near misses, process safety, vehicle, and property damage incidents.

Drive corrective/preventive actions to closure and publish Safety Alerts/Lessons Learned.

6. CONTRACTOR & THIRD-PARTY SAFETY

Evaluate contractor and transporter HSE competency and enforce compliance procedures.

7. TRAINING & COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT

Execute the annual HSE training calendar, including DDT, First Aid, Firefighting, and Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs.

Maintain site training and competency records.

8. SUSTAINABILITY & ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

Drive ESG initiatives, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), and environmental compliance.

Track KPIs for energy, water, waste generation, and carbon emissions.

9. EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

Coordinate mock drills, review Emergency Response Plans, and conduct facility readiness assessments.

10. REPORTING & ANALYTICS

Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual HSE dashboards and KPI reports.

Perform trend analysis to drive continuous safety improvements.

Engineering Degree (Chemical / Mechanical / Industrial / Environmental or equivalent) with 5-8 years of HSE experience in manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, bitumen, oil & gas, lubricants, or process industries.

Preferred Qualifications : ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety), NEBOSH IGC, ISO 4501 Internal Auditor, ISO 14001 Internal Auditor, Process Safety Management training

30-40% travel across India for audits, inspections, project reviews, transporter assessments, and incident investigations.

Experience in multi-location HSE management preferred.

Exposure to project safety and transport safety management is desirable.
