Job summary

Lloyds Steels is seeking a proactive Safety Officer in Mumbai Suburban to monitor daily construction activities, enforce safety policies, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

You will conduct site inspections, promote PPE use, maintain safety logs, lead toolbox talks, coordinate with engineers and QA/QC, and support emergency preparedness and a strong safety culture on site.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and identify unsafe acts, conditions, and potential hazards.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and monitor the safety of tools, equipment, scaffolding, and fall-protection systems.
  • Maintain daily safety logs, inspection reports, near-miss records, and incident documentation.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, site inductions, and safety awareness programs for workers.
  • Coordinate with Site Engineers, Supervisors, QA/QC, contractors, and HSE teams on safety requirements.
  • Monitor implementation and closure of corrective and preventive actions arising from safety observations.
  • Assist in emergency preparedness, evacuation drills, fire safety, first-aid readiness, and emergency response.
  • Promote a strong safety culture among labourers, subcontractors, and site personnel.
  • Report safety incidents, non-compliances, and unsafe conditions promptly to the Safety Engineer/HSE Manager.
