Job summary

Marutee Design And Engineering Private Limited in Karnataka is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to create designs for automotive components from concept through production. You will model in Unigraphics NX, draft parts, and ensure GD&T compliance, while coordinating with design teams and supporting prototyping and testing.

The role requires 2-5 years in automotive product design, with expertise in SAP/Windchill BOM creation and a strong grasp of manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Machine Design.
• 2-5 years of automotive product design experience.
• Strong drafting and 3D CAD modelling skills using UG NX.

Responsibilities

• Work on mechanical design aspects of automotive components with NX CAD modelling.
• Design plastic, sheet metal, casting and machined parts.

Create and develop mechanical systems, components, and subassemblies for e-machines.

ROLE

Create mechanical designs for automotive components and systems, from concept to production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work on mechanical design aspects of automotive components, with a high level of drafting and 3D CAD modelling skills using Unigraphics NX CAD software.
• Design plastic, sheet metal, casting and machined parts.
• Apply a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Apply sound understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes of various components and engineering materials.
• Prepare and present mechanical designs at design reviews, and support design teams.
• Prototyping - support the creation and testing of prototypes for design validation.
• Report progress of all assigned tasks to the Reporting Manager.
• Create BOMs in SAP and Windchill.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Machine Design.

EXPERIENCE

Around 2-5 years of working experience in Automotive Product Design.

DESIRED FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• Good at 2D/3D work (modelling, assembly and drafting) in Unigraphics CAD software, and the Windchill system for BOM creation.
• Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes.
• Proactive approach and good communication skills.
