Job summary

MEL Systems And Services in Chennai invites passionate fresh graduates to join our Industrial Automation team as Robot Programmers. You will learn and develop robot programs for assembly lines, material handling, welding automation, and pick-and-place applications, supporting integration with PLCs, sensors, and vision systems.

This role offers hands-on start-up experience, field installation, debugging, and documentation, with travel to customer sites as required.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of Industrial Robotics and Automation.
  • Understanding of robot programming concepts and automation systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC fundamentals, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and work in a project-driven environment.
  • Ready to travel for project execution across customer locations.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and develop robot programs for industrial automation applications.
  • Support programming, simulation, testing, and commissioning of industrial robots.
  • Assist in implementing robotic solutions for Pick & Place, Assembly, Material Handling, Welding, Packaging, and Machine Tending.
  • Support robot integration with PLCs, sensors, vision systems, and automation equipment.
  • Participate in robot installation, startup, debugging, and commissioning activities.
  • Troubleshoot robotic systems and resolve programming-related issues.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and user manuals.
  • Work closely with Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, PLC Programming, and Project Teams.
  • Travel to customer sites for installation, support, and commissioning activities when required.

About the Role

We are looking for passionate and career-oriented Robot Programmers (Freshers) to join our Industrial Automation team. The selected candidates will work on Robotic Automation, Special Purpose Machines (SPM), Assembly Lines, Material Handling Systems, Welding Automation, Pick & Place Applications, and Production Line Automation Projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn and develop robot programs for industrial automation applications.
  • Support programming, simulation, testing, and commissioning of industrial robots.
  • Assist in implementing robotic solutions for Pick & Place, Assembly, Material Handling, Welding, Packaging, and Machine Tending applications.
  • Support robot integration with PLCs, sensors, vision systems, and automation equipment.
  • Participate in robot installation, startup, debugging, and commissioning activities.
  • Troubleshoot robotic systems and resolve programming-related issues.

Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)
  • Exposure to Industrial Robots such as ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa, Kawasaki, Universal Robots, or Mitsubishi.
  • Basic knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Delta, Omron, etc.).
  • Understanding of Industrial Communication Protocols.
  • Knowledge of Vision Systems and Industrial Cameras.
  • Familiarity with Pneumatics, Servo Systems, and Motion Control.
  • Internship or academic projects related to Robotics, Automation, PLC, or Mechatronics.
Educational Qualification
  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical, Electronics, Automation Engineering.
  • Diploma holders with relevant automation knowledge may also apply.
  • 2024, 2025 & 2026 pass-outs are welcome.
