Job summary

Maxion Automation is seeking an experienced Robot Programming & Commissioning professional in India to design, program and teach robotic systems across diverse applications. You will handle path optimization, tool setup, and safety considerations while coordinating with electrical and mechanical teams at customer sites.

The role involves hands-on robot programming, on-site installation, FAT/SAT support, and customer training to ensure successful commissioning and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with at least one industrial robot platform (FANUC, ABB, KUKA or Yaskawa).
• Knowledge of robot programming, teaching, tool/frame setup, robot I/O and safety.
• Basic understanding of PLC, HMI, sensors, pneumatic systems and electrical controls.
• Ability to read electrical/automation drawings.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of industrial automation and manufacturing processes.

Job description

Robot Programming & Commissioning

• Program and teach industrial robots for various automation applications.
• Develop robot programs for Pick & Place, Machine Tending, Material Handling, Die Casting, Pouring, Extraction, Deburring, Degating, Trimming and Handling applications.
• Perform robot teaching, jogging, point optimization and cycle-time improvement.
• Set robot positions, frames, tools, payloads and work coordinates.
• Optimize robot paths to achieve required cycle time, accuracy and safety.
• Conduct robot dry-run, trial production and final commissioning.

PLC & Automation Integration

• Interface robots with PLC, HMI, sensors, safety circuits, VFDs and other automation equipment.
• Understand basic PLC logic and I/O interfacing.
• Troubleshoot communication and I/O-related issues between robot and PLC.
• Work with electrical and mechanical teams during automation integration.

Project Execution

• Understand customer requirements and automation process flow.
• Participate in machine assembly, robot integration and testing.
• Support FAT, SAT, installation and commissioning activities.
• Conduct trials using actual components and optimize the complete robotic cycle.
• Prepare robot backup, program documentation and commissioning reports.
• Coordinate with project, mechanical, electrical and controls engineers.

Customer Site Support

• Travel to customer locations for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and production support.
• Provide technical support during production trials.
• Identify root causes of robotic/process-related problems and implement corrective actions.
• Train customer operators and maintenance personnel on basic robot operation and troubleshooting.
