Job summary

Arup seeks an experienced road design modeller with deep expertise in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and GIS to deliver high-quality highway designs. The role requires 10+ years in road and street design, preferably on Indian projects, with UK exposure as an advantage.

You will work within multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic project environment, ensuring CAD standards and data management excellence while contributing to design layouts and as-built documentation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in road and street design, preferably on Indian projects, with UK project exposure as an advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS; OpenRoads Designer experience is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of road geometric design standards such as IRC and DMRB; experience in reports and BOQ preparation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate road design layouts and grading plans in multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure CAD standards, quality requirements and data management procedures are followed.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop design layouts and as-built documentation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join teams delivering major infrastructure and water projects in India, the UK, Middle East and Africa. The modeller needs to have experience with geometric design standards, which is also standard industry practice in highways projects. Your expertise in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS will be critical to the success of our design and construction teams

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for individuals who:

10+ years of experience in road and street design, preferably on Indian projects, with UK project exposure as an advantage.

Strong knowledge of road geometric design standards such as IRC and DMRB.

Experience in detailed design, drainage design, reports, calculations, and BOQ preparation.

Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS; OpenRoads Designer experience is an added advantage.

Experienced in developing design layouts, grading plans, and as-built documentation

Ability to work closely with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate designs

Familiar with traffic signs, road markings, vehicle restraint systems, and road safety audits (desirable).

Ensures compliance with CAD standards, quality requirements, and data management procedures.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision.

Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

Comfortable working in dynamic, collaborative project environments while maintaining confidentiality.
