Job summary

Arup is building a Bangalore-based team to deliver railway bridge and civil structure outputs. You will prepare high-quality drawings and models and coordinate with UK colleagues to support efficient project delivery.

Qualifications

The Opportunity

Infrastructure is ageing globally, with a growing pipeline of renewals and bridge upgrade projects. This role sits at the heart of a new Bangalore-based team that will work in close partnership with UK colleagues to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions and help Arup become a market leader in rail renewals. You will play an important role in the delivery of railway bridge and civil structures projects by preparing high-quality drawings, models and coordinated digital outputs that support efficient project delivery across the Bangalore and UK teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce 2D drawings and 3D models for bridges and civil structures in accordance with project requirements and Arup quality standards.
• Support the preparation of general arrangements, details, reinforcement information and other drawing outputs required for design and construction stages.
• Work closely with engineers to translate technical requirements into accurate, coordinated and buildable digital deliverables.
• Able to work under limited supervision and use initiative and independent judgement.
• Contribute to BIM coordination and model integration with other disciplines across rail systems and infrastructure projects.
• Maintain drawing registers, document control expectations and quality processes, ensuring outputs are well organised and issued correctly.
• Help improve consistency, efficiency and quality through the use of standard approaches, templates and digital workflows.

If this role right for you?

• Relevant qualification in civil engineering, CAD, BIM or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in relevant field on Bridge engineering in a railway infrastructure
• Expert at using digital design tools such as Bentley MicroStation and ProjectWise is essential.
• Experience of AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D or similar, would also be preferable.
• Experience of Parametric design and workflows, such as Grasshopper and Rhino.
• Understanding of civil or structural detailing principles and the production of technical drawings.
• Ability to work accurately, manage information carefully and collaborate effectively with engineers and other technicians.
• Familiarity with BIM processes and coordinated model-based delivery is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
