Job summary

Arcadis in India is seeking an senior Civil Engineer for Highway design and project leadership. You will drive end-to-end highway design, prepare detailed drawings, and manage project teams across international references, ensuring compliance with DMRB/AASHTO standards and using Open Roads Designer, Navisworks and InfraWorks.

The role requires 8+ years in design consulting, strong English communication, and proven mentoring abilities, with exposure to overseas projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a design consulting environment.
• Strong understanding of DMRB/AASHTO codes.
• Experience with overseas projects (UK/US/CAN/EU/ME/AUS) is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical aspects of smaller tasks within larger projects, meeting objectives.
• Lead end-to-end highway design and delivery for highway projects.
• Prepare and finalize highway drawings at various stages of projects.
• Compute quantities and prepare design reports.
• Review existing condition reports and surveys.
• Coach and mentor team members.
• Lead and design projects; oversee at least one overseas design project.
• Use software: Navisworks, InfraWorks, Open Roads.
• Demonstrate strong people management skills (desirable).
• Mentor teams (desirable).

Role description

• Good understanding and Knowledge of international codes like DMRB, AASHTO, and Euro codes along with various other International Codal Practices and Standards, Design Standards of Local County Councils
• Highway Design experience using Open Roads Designer and good expertise in 3D modelling for proposals and Detail design projects.
• Roadway Design for various stages of Design-Build Projects – Detailed design of Roadway corridor, Detailed drawings, construction support drawings, Design Reviews, Project Management, and Design Management.
• Experience in MS Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Role accountabilities

• Responsible for managing technical aspects of smaller and/or less complex tasks or components of larger tasks, meeting financial, quality, timeframe and health and safety objectives
• Responsible for end-to-end project design and delivery for Highway design-related tasks.
• Preparation / Finalization of various highway-related drawings at various stages of projects.
• Computation of quantities.Preparation of design reports.
• Ability to understand existing condition reports and surveys.
• Coaching and mentoring team members.
• Ability to lead and design projects.
• Should have handled a minimum of 1 Design projects-overseas preferably for the UK/US/CAN/EU/ME/AUS in the Infrastructure Business.
• Software: Navisworks, Infraworks, Open Roads
• Excellent Soft Skills related to People Management (desirable)
• Strong mentoring Skills – Ability to build teams (desirable)

Qualifications & Experience

• Education - Graduation - B.Tech/B.E. – Civil or Post Graduation - MTech – Civil/Transportation. Minimum 8+ years of experience in a Design Consulting Environment
• Strong understanding of DMRB/AASHTO codes
• Software – Open Roads Designer. All others like Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Infraworks and Navisworks would be added advantages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English), including technical report writing.
• Organized and proactive (self-starter).
