Job summary

Choice International in Mumbai (on-site) is seeking an experienced risk analyst for Reinsurance Broking. You will assess physical and operational hazards of insured properties, plants and projects to enable underwriters to price risks with the right terms and conditions.

You will work with Sales, Product, Reinsurance and Placement teams, and perform regular site visits across the region for risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Engineering graduate with Mechanical or Electrical specialization.
• AIII / FIII preferred.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in risk assessment or broking.

Role summary

Assessment of the physical and operational hazards of insured properties, plants and projects, so that insurance underwriters can underwrite and price risks with relevant terms and conditions.

Works with Sales, Product, Reinsurance and Placement teams and clients. Regular site visits across the assigned regions for risk assessment is a core activity.

Key responsibilities

The role is accountable for risk assessment and advisory, post the site inspection and/or desk top review and add value to the broking function for business opportunity. Estimate Probable Maximum Loss (PML) for key accounts. Agree risk improvement recommendations with clients and track them to closure. Conduct loss-prevention workshops, fire drill reviews and awareness sessions for clients.

Experience: Must have inspected more than 25 risks in a Broking Firm / Reinsurance Company / Insurance Company. The role needs in-depth knowledge in property and engineering hazards, plus the ability to quantify exposure.

Soft Skills: Excellent negotiation, analytical, communication, documentation and client relationship skills.
