Job summary

Cosmo Films in Mohali is seeking a customer-focused Retail Associate to greet customers, understand their needs, and recommend suitable products and services. You will build rapport with customers, provide product information, and actively upsell to increase basket size.

In addition, you will assist with booking grooming and vet appointments where applicable, coordinate with teams to keep schedules on time, and handle in-store and digital communications to keep customers informed of updates.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, understand their needs, and recommend suitable products and services.
• Build rapport with customers and provide information about products, services, and care.
• Actively upsell and cross-sell to increase basket size.
• Handle customer queries and complaints, escalating when necessary.
• Assist customers in booking grooming and vet appointments, in-store and via digital channels.
• Confirm, reschedule, or cancel bookings and inform customers of updates.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure schedules run on time.
• Process sales transactions accurately through POS/Kiosk systems.
• Handle cash, card, and digital payments, issue receipts, and manage refunds/exchanges.
• Reconcile daily sales and report discrepancies.
• Follow FIFO for stock replenishment and rotation.
• Assist with inward and outward stock checks and verify quantities.
• Monitor shelves for out-of-stock or expired items and inform management.
• Support merchandising per planograms to maximise visibility.
• Participate in daily briefings and product training to stay updated on targets.
• Contribute ideas to improve store operations and customer satisfaction.
• Support colleagues during peak hours and events.
• Follow SOPs for hygiene, safety, and pet handling, and assist readiness for inspections.

Customer Service & Sales -

• Build rapport with pet parents and provide information about pet care, grooming, and vet services.
• Actively upsell and cross-sell products and services to enhance the customer experience and increase basket size.
• Handle customer queries and complaints, escalating to the Store Manager when necessary.

Booking & Appointment Support -

• Assist customers in booking grooming and vet appointments, both in-store and via digital channels.
• Confirm, reschedule, or cancel bookings as needed and inform customers of any service updates.
• Coordinate with grooming and vet teams to ensure schedules run on time.

Cashiering & Transaction Management

• Processsales transactions accurately through POS/Kiosk systems.
• Handle cash, card, and digital payments, issue receipts, and manage refunds or exchanges per policy.
• Reconcile daily sales and report any discrepancies immediately.

Stock Handling & Shrinkage Control

• Follow FIFO for product replenishment and rotation.
• Assist with inward and outward stock checks, ensuring quantities and quality match records.
• Monitor shelves for out-of-stock, damaged, or expired items and inform the Store Manager promptly.
• Actively support the target of maintaining shrinkage at or below 1.5% of total net salesby adhering to stock handling protocols, promptly reporting suspicious activity, and being vigilant on the sales floor and at POS.

Product Knowledge & Merchandising

• Maintain updated knowledge of all product categories, private label items, and new arrivals.
• Support merchandising as per planograms to maximise visibility and sales impact.

• Participate in daily briefings, product training, and team discussions to stay updated on targets and promotions.
• Contribute ideasto improve store operations and customer satisfaction.
• Support colleagues during peak hours and events.

Compliance & Safety Support

• Follow SOPs for hygiene, safety, and pet handling within the store.
• Be aware of the stores license requirements and support readiness for official visits or inspections as guided by the Store Manager.
