Job summary

Ugaoo Agritech Pvt Ltd is seeking a Retail Accountant to manage store-level accounting, reconcile collections, support sales reporting, and assist with period closures.

The role requires 1–3 years of experience, strong Excel skills, understanding of taxation, and familiarity with POS/ERP systems. You will coordinate with store teams and finance to maintain accurate records and controls.

Role Summary

This role is responsible for handling retail accounting, including reconciliation of collections with financial records, supporting sales reporting, maintaining expense controls, and assisting with periodic closures.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile retail collections received through various payment channels (cards, digital payments, bank transfers, cash) against bank statements and sales reports, ensuring timely settlement closure.
• Maintain accurate sales reporting across stores to support real-time visibility and management reporting.
• Support expense provisioning and closure activities.
• Review store petty cash transactions for accuracy, policy compliance, and supporting documentation, flagging discrepancies for correction.
• Maintain expense trackers for MIS and control purposes.
• Review staff travel expense claims for approval, applicable rates, and adherence to company guidelines.
• Provide prompt resolution to store queries and transaction-related issues.
• Undertake additional work as allocated by colleagues or senior management.

Key Requirements

• 1 - 3 years of relevant experience.
• General understanding of accounting fundamentals, including reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of taxation concepts.
• Familiarity with retail store operations is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Familiarity with retail POS and accounting/ERP systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple reconciliations simultaneously, and good coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
