Job summary

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily civil construction activities on-site, including surface/underground works, tunneling, concreting and structural works.
• Ensure QA/QC by complying with national standards, project specifications and drawings.
• Track daily site progress and assist in recovery planning for delays.
• Review construction drawings, method statements and submittals for discrepancies.
• Maintain site records, measurements and documentation for variations and billing.
• Enforce safety, health and environmental protocols on site.
• Coordinate with contractors, testing labs and multidisciplinary teams to resolve issues on-site.

Resident Engineer (RE) - Civil Position: Resident Engineer (Civil)

Project: HEO 240 MW Hydro Electric Project

Location: Project Site, Arunachal Pradesh

Employment Type: Full-time, Site-based

Experience Required: 7-10 Years

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized university/institution. Proficiency in computer-aided design tools, project management software (MS Project/Primavera), and technical documentation.

Minimum 8 years of total post-qualification experience in execution, site supervision, and quality control of major infrastructure projects, with a strong preference for Hydro Electric Projects (HEP), Tunneling/Underground works, or Dam/Powerhouse construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Execution & Supervision: Act as the primary on-site engineering representative to oversee daily civil construction activities, including surface/underground excavation, slope stabilization, tunneling, concreting, and structural works.
• Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC): Ensure all construction materials (cement, steel, aggregates) and workmanship rigorously comply with national standards, project technical specifications, and design drawings.
• Progress Monitoring: Track daily site progress against baseline construction schedules, report bottlenecks, and assist senior management in developing recovery plans for delayed activities.
• Technical Compliance & Drawings: Review construction drawings, method statements, bar-bending schedules, and technical submittals at the site level, flagging discrepancies proactively.
• Contract Administration Support: Maintain meticulous daily site records, measurement books (MB), joint measurements, and documentation required for tracking variations and contractor billing.
• Safety & Health Compliance: Strictly enforce site safety rules, health guidelines, and environmental protocols, working closely with the HSE team, particularly given the challenging Himalayan terrain of Arunachal Pradesh.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate smoothly with contractors, testing laboratories, and multidisciplinary project teams to resolve technical issues swiftly on-site.
