Job summary

Optelgroup in India (Gujarat, Ahmedabad) seeks an engineer to oversee maintenance, installation and support of electronic and electromechanical systems on production and packaging lines.

You will troubleshoot electrical components, interpret schematics, assist IT networking, and provide basic operator training; travel to client sites will be frequent.

Strong communication in English and Hindi is essential, with hands-on problem solving and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience maintaining and supporting electronic and electromechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of circuitry, electrical components, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience with mechanical assembly, drilling, and mounting electronic components.
• Familiarity with IP networking, domain identification, routing, cabling, and network troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of software programming; Knowledge of Python or line-level coding is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively with clients and teams.
• Language Requirements: English and Hindi; travel frequently (≥3 weeks/month).

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic components, mechanical systems, and electromechanical machinery, including optics equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, components, and systems, including wiring, terminating, and testing circuits.
• Interpret and work with schematic diagrams, electrical symbols, voltage calculations, and circuit flow analysis.
• Ensure proper handling, installation, and maintenance of sensitive electronic hardware, software, and OEM equipment.
• Support product integration, project validation, and performance qualification of new installations at client sites.
• Coordinate between customers and technical support teams to resolve issues on production lines efficiently.
• Deliver basic system training to operators and demonstrate the functionality of installed equipment.
• Provide IT networking support, including hardware setup, IP addressing, networking protocols, routers, switches, and general connectivity troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate documentation of technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance activities.
