Job summary

SMEC is seeking a qualified Resettlement Specialist for Papua New Guinea road and highway projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Hydrology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in involuntary resettlement, preferably for transport projects funded by MDBs.
• Fluency in English; male or female applicants welcome.

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and implementation of Resettlement Action Plans (RAP), Land Acquisition and Resettlement Action Plans (LARAP), and related safeguard instruments
• Identify Project Affected Persons, vulnerable households, and affected assets.
• Support implementation of land acquisition and resettlement activities during project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Hydrology, or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years' experience in involuntary resettlement, preferably for transport projects, funded by MDBs.
