Job summary

Social Innovation Studio in Mumbai is seeking a Research & Systems Design Associate to work with users, communities, and partner organisations to understand ground realities and solve problems with end-to-end research and strategy.

You will identify insights, develop solutions, prototype, and support implementation, taking ownership of selected projects while collaborating with a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Work end-to-end on research processes across projects—research, strategy, insight finding, ideation, prototyping, and delivery.
• Use quantitative and qualitative methods to gather insights and document the process.
• Analyse findings to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for interventions.
• Cross-collaborate with teams to develop innovative Solution Design.
• Communicate experience strategies using personas, flow maps, customer journeys, mental modelling, quick mock ups.
• Document and create research reports with the Design Team.

We partner with non-profits, social enterprises, and purpose-driven organisations on projects across Research, System Design, Service Design, Behaviour Change, and Human-Centered Design.

About the role

As a Research & Systems Design Associate, you will work alongside a cross-functional team and directly with users, communities, and partner organisations to understand the ground realities of the problems we are solving. You will contribute to projects end-to-end from research and strategy to identifying insights, developing solutions, prototyping, and supporting implementation. You will also take ownership of selected projects and collaborate closely with fellow team members.

Your key responsibilities are:

• Work on the research processes end-to-end across different projects - research, strategy, insight finding, support ideation, prototyping and delivery.
• Use quantitative & qualitative research methods to gather insight & document the process
• Analyse findings to identify trends, patterns & opportunities for impactful interventions
• Cross collaborate with teams to develop innovative Solution Design
• Communicate experience strategies through tools such as Persona Creation, Flow Maps, Customer Journeys, Mental Modelling, Quick Mock ups etc.
• Document & create research reports through cross collaboration with the Design Team
