Job summary

PI Industries Ltd. is seeking a biology leader to contribute to the discovery and pre-development of innovative AIS for crop protection. You will work within PI CREAGRO to translate scientific insights into practical development programs in a way that adds significant value to the business.

The role emphasizes IP protection, collaboration with development and regulatory functions, and building a high-performance biology team through coaching, process improvements, and strategic target setting.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Agriculture (Entomology) from a reputed university.
• Knowledge of specific biological disciplines (e.g. Plant pathology, Entomology, Plant physiology, Agronomy).

Responsibilities

• Drive innovation in agrochemistry and contribute to discovery and pre-development of AIS for crop protection.
• Support IP protection by identifying proprietary results and contributing to patent activities.
• Contribute to budget proposals and budgetary controls within the area of responsibility.
• Build knowhow and coach the biology team to strengthen capabilities and culture.

Job description

Position Purpose

• Contribute to the discovery and pre-development of innovative solutions in agrochemistry, namely new a.i.s for crop protection adding significant value to the business of PI
• Contribute to the delivery of a sustainable flow of development products on mid-term (>3 years)
• Contribute to the ensuring of IP protection

Strategic Responsibilities

• Active support of the philosophy, values and strategy of PI Industries
• Efficient contribution to the overall success of PI CREAGRO by driving innovation according to objectives and targets being set by the PI CREAGRO management team
• Fulfilling requirements from business (reflected in research targets), biology (reflected in biological efficacy profile)
• Support of Development functions within the frame of given expertise and resources, for instance reflected in requirement for human and environmental safety and for regulatory affaires
• Identifying proprietary research results and taking appropriate measures to maximize the value of intellectual property for PI CREAGRO (patent applications)
• Contribute to competitor intelligence
• Support GL & Head of Biology with special focus on personnel, target setting, development of strengths, building of knowhow, feedback and coaching
