Source-Right seeks an experienced Software Architect Embedded to shape ECU software architecture for automotive applications. You will lead low‑level firmware and RTOS tasks, interfacing with MCAL/BSW modules and validating on real hardware.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 10-12 years of hands-on experience in embedded automotive software development with leadership responsibilities.
  • Proven experience in automotive OEM/Tier-1/embedded platforms and ECUs.
  • Strong MCU/MPU/SoC integration, system bring-up and hardware interface debugging.
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 software considerations and safety-oriented practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and architect embedded ECU software and automotive firmware.
  • Lead integration, debugging and validation on actual hardware and EVBs.
  • Configure AUTOSAR BSW/RTE/MCAL and ECU integration workflows.
  • Analyze CAN/LIN/ Ethernet traffic with CANoe/CANalyzer and Wireshark for validation.
  • Coordinate with distributed teams across R&D and ensure design reviews and traceability.

Job description

Position: Research & Development – Software – Software Architect Embedded – III (BB1012FT RM 4373)
Core Technical Requirements
  • Extensive experience in automotive ECU software architecture, embedded firmware development, and MCU/MPU-based system design.
  • Strong Embedded C expertise with hands-on experience in low-level software, peripheral drivers, memory management, interrupts, boot flows, and real-time constraints.
  • Deep understanding of microcontroller and microprocessor architectures, including CPU cores, DSP/accelerators, caches, memory hierarchy, DMA, peripherals, and board-level integration.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive communication technologies and protocol stacks including CAN, LIN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDS, and related diagnostic/communication concepts.
  • Developer-level expertise of AUTOSAR concepts, including BSW, RTE, MCAL, OS, communication stacks, diagnostics, and integration considerations. Experience on Vector Microsar and EB Tresos is added advantage
  • Hands-on configuration and integration using Vector DaVinci Configurator/Developer, EB tresos, AUTOSAR MCAL/RTD, BSW modules, RTE generation and ECU integration.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing, integrating, bringing-up and validating ECU applications on Evaluation Boards (EVBs) and target hardware.
  • Experience with board bring-up, firmware flashing, bootloader configuration, software download and hardware validation.
  • Proficiency using lab equipment including Mixed Signal Oscilloscope (MSO), Logic Analyzer, JTAG debuggers (Lauterbach, or any JTAG) for embedded debugging.
Technical R&D oriented JD draft
  • Hands-on experience with CANoe, CANalyzer, PCAN, Wireshark and protocol analysis for CAN, LIN and Automotive Ethernet validation.
  • Experience debugging MCU peripherals including SPI, I2C, UART, PWM/eMIOS, ADC, GPIO and Ethernet PHY interfaces.
  • Ability to independently develop, integrate, debug and validate complete ECU software on actual hardware with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with RTOS-based embedded systems, task scheduling, synchronization, inter-core communication, resource management, and deterministic execution behavior.
  • Strong debugging capability using tools such as Lauterbach, Eclipse-based IDEs, PCAN, CANoe, Wireshark, trace tools, profilers, and embedded logging frameworks.
  • Familiarity with functional safety concepts, ISO 26262 software considerations, safety mechanisms, fault handling, and safety-oriented architecture practices.
  • Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity concepts, secure boot, cryptographic services, secure diagnostics, secure firmware update, and HSM/HSE integration is preferred.
  • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into architecture, design, implementation guidance, and integration plans.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 10-12 years of hands-on experience in embedded automotive software development, preferably with strong technical leadership responsibilities while remaining actively involved in software design, development, integration, debugging and validation.
  • Proven experience developing, integrating, and architecting software for automotive OEM, Tier-1, semiconductor, or embedded platform environments.
  • Strong experience in MCU/MPU/SoC-based automotive applications, system-level integration, platform bring-up, and software-hardware interface debugging.
  • Strong understanding of automotive software development lifecycles, design reviews, code quality practices, requirements traceability, and validation workflows.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed engineering teams in matrixed R&D environments.
