Job summary

PI Industries Ltd in India is seeking a Research Assistant – Process Technology in the PR&D (Process Technology) division. The role focuses on generating new chemistry approaches, conducting bench-scale experiments, and documenting scientific results to support scale-up.

The candidate will compile data, prepare SOPs, and assist in transferring processes to pilot and commercial scales, maintaining ISO documentation and lab safety standards.

Qualifications

• Master/Doctorate in Organic Chemistry from a reputed university.
• 0-6 years of Industrial Experience in agro chemicals/fine chemicals/pharma-API.
• Experience in bench-scale experiments and meticulous data recording.

Responsibilities

• Generate chemistry approaches and simplification areas for projects.
• Conduct experimentation, document reports and data compilation.
• Prepare SOPs, bind data sheets, and ensure proper lab documentation.
• Support pilot and commercial scale improvements and trouble-shooting.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for analytical support and process validation.

Position Description

Position Purpose

• Literature search and compilation

Strategic Responsibilities

• To understand the objective of project / chemistry / MSDS
• Search the additional literature as required.
• Inputs in planning of experiments/ glassware/ raw materials/ analysis
• To ensure proper maintenance of lab equipment.
• Proper house- keeping and use of PPE’s.
• Basic process safety knowledge
• Use relevant MSDS for safe handling and disposals of toxic chemicals

Operational Responsibilities

• Bench scale experiments as per planning.
• Identification of critical process parameters
• Co-ordination with QC for analytical support / development
• Prepare sample as per required quality
• Optimization of process w.r.t. identified critical parameters
• Impurities characterization and synthesis.
• Understanding the parameters responsible for impurities.
• To guide subordinate for Execution of experiments
• Process validation by reproducing min. three consecutive batches.
• Prepare process write –up/ TOP / SOP
• Data entry in SAP
• Experimental observations & data compilation
• To maintain ISO document
• Preparation of daily report / BFD of process / Man-hours utilization / FH Occupancy
• Demo batches to PD
• To check quality plan/ Plant SOP
• Use test of RM’s
• Support to kilo lab/pilot plant/manufacturing site during technology transfer
• Trouble shooting during scale up
• Data compilation and time to time update of KL/ PP plant trials

Education Qualification
