Job summary

Momentive in Bengaluru South, India, invites a Research Assistant to join our R&D team. The role focuses on process development and scale-up involving organic synthesis and polymerization from lab to pilot scales, under the guidance of the R&D Point of contact.

The candidate will evolve as an impactful team player with good organizational citizenship and use project management skills appropriately. You will work with scientists to plan and execute lab work, document results, and generate data

Qualifications

  • Master in chemistry/polymer technology with 0-2 years of experience in organic chemistry or polymer chemistry.
  • Experience handling polymer/organic synthesis procedures in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Working knowledge of NMR, GC, FTIR and other characterization techniques would be an added advantage.
  • Ability to independently perform and coordinate testing, interpret results and draw analysis.
  • High standard of integrity and behaves in a fair and ethical manner.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document and communicate work done to stakeholders.
  • Supply all technical information and data needed to generate SDS and Regulatory documents.
  • Contribute to the safety teams and aid in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

Responsibilities Include
  • Gather brief understanding of incumbent technology and explore opportunities to translate learning towards development of new solutions demonstrating performance benefits based on Project needs and end applications
  • Work with Scientist on planning and execute laboratory work for evaluating new product concepts
  • Develop, document and communicate work done to stakeholders
  • Supply all technical information and data needed to generate necessary SDS and Regulatory documents
  • Contribute to the safety teams and aid in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees
Qualifications

  • Use of basic statistical tools to provide clear understanding to experimental results.
