Job summary

ISS STOXX seeks a Research Analyst in Mumbai to join the Investor Economics division. You will help identify trends across banking, insurance, asset management and capital markets, and contribute to research outputs with strong data-handling skills.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in financial services, solid Excel and database know-how, and comfort with Power BI, Python, SPSS or R. Join a global team driving insights and impact.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in economics, finance, or business administration.
• 1-2 years’ experience in financial services or wealth management preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access are valued.
• Nice to have: Power BI, Python, SPSS, R; high data integrity and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Research emerging trends in financial markets across asset/wealth management, insurance, and capital markets.
• Gather data from sources to compile global trend lists and track industry metrics.
• Contribute to production of research periodicals and other outputs as required.
• Support for one-time engagements by performing requisite research.
• Share knowledge with the ISS IE Research team on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Financial literacy – Should have a basic level of understanding of financial products across the financial spectrum (Banking, Insurance, Asset wealth management and Capital markets)
• Develop necessary skillsets via training – Undergo training on data sources to collect information and produce content.
• Information gathering: Conduct research on emerging trends in the financial markets (esp. asset/wealth management, insurance and capital markets). Compile a list of global trends, also covering ongoing tracking of industry metrics and developments.
• Deliverables: Contribute to production of research periodicals and other outputs as required. Support for one-time engagements at ISS IE by conducting requisite research to produce the output.
• Team player - Proactively share knowledge and understanding of industry developments with the global ISS IE Research team, on a formal and informal basis.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate or graduate degree from a well-recognised university in economics, finance, commerce, or business administration. Other disciplines such as mathematics, statistics or social sciences will be considered in combination with experience.
• 1-2 years’ experience in the financial services or wealth management industries would be preferred (though not necessary)
• Must be proficient in standard office software (MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
• Strong command and understanding of MS Excel and working knowledge of databases an asset.
• Nice to have: previous experience with Power BI, Python, SPSS, R
• High attention to detail and data integrity.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
• The flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
