Job summary

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, and a strong foundation in API design, testing, and code quality.

Overview

We're seeking a driven and technically grounded Software Engineer (3–5 years of experience) to join our Engineering team and help build the next generation of our full-stack platform. You'll work closely with senior engineers to design, develop, and ship features across the entire stack-using a modern, integrated toolchain including Java, React, Node.js, Hasura, PostgreSQL, Nhost, and Docker.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions across the full stack (front-end and back-end).
• Architect and implement GraphQL APIs using Hasura and custom resolvers to provide efficient data access for client applications.
• Develop and maintain backend services and serverless functions using Node.js, integrated with NHOST and PostgreSQL.
• Build dynamic, responsive, and user-friendly web interfaces using React.
• Containerize applications using Docker to ensure consistency across development, staging, and production environments.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to translate requirements into technical deliverables.
• Promote code quality through unit and integration testing and active participation in code reviews.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues across the application stack.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and best practices within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven hands-on experience with the core technology stack:
• Backend: Java / Node.js
• Frontend: React
• Database: PostgreSQL (including schema design and performance optimization)
• API & Services: GraphQL, Hasura, NHOST
• Containerization: Docker
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Demonstrated experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Mocha, Chai) and a commitment to writing testable code.
• Proficiency with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Good to Have

• Proficiency in Python or Java for backend development or tooling.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
• Experience with performance monitoring and optimization tools.
• Understanding of agile development methodologies.
• Exposure to AI technologies or frameworks.
