Job summary

Earthful.me in Hyderabad seeks a Regulatory & Compliance professional to own end-to-end regulatory affairs for products and marketing, including FSSAI, Legal Metrology, labeling, and e-commerce compliance.

You will collaborate with R&D, Quality, Marketing, E-commerce, and Operations to ensure all claims, packaging, and listings are accurate, substantiated, and compliant without slowing the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Food Technology or related field.
• 2+ years of regulatory/compliance experience.
• Strong knowledge of FSSAI regulations, Legal Metrology, and labeling requirements.
• Experience reviewing health/nutrition/functional product claims against regulatory substantiation.
• Willingness to work in Hyderabad office and coordinate cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own label, packaging, and product-by-product compliance reviews with regulation citations.
• Manage new product and formulation clearance workflows with clear status and citations.
• Track FSSAI licenses and filings (Active/ Renewal/ Applied) and send renewal alerts.
• Conduct internal compliance audits and document findings with risk levels and deadlines.
• Ensure Legal Metrology compliance for packaging and mandatory declarations.
• Review and validate health, nutritional, and product-claims across Amazon, website, and campaigns.
• Support regulatory responses for e-commerce listings and takedowns.
• Maintain regulatory documentation and SOPs; contribute to launches from a regulatory perspective.

Job description

This role owns end-to-end regulatory and compliance for Earthful's products and marketing — FSSAI, Legal Metrology, product claims, and e-commerce compliance. You'll work closely with R&D, Quality, Marketing, Performance Marketing, E-commerce, and Operations to make sure everything we put on a label, a listing, or an ad is accurate, substantiated, and compliant, without slowing the business down.

What You'll Own

Label & Packaging Compliance Reviews (18–20/month)

• Check the nutrition panel against formulation, and CoA against test report and RDA
• Check claims, allergens, and warnings
• Pass/Flag/Reject each review with a regulation citation
• Track versions, manage corrections, and give final approval before print or go-live

New Product & Formulation Clearance (4–6/month)

• Classify FSSAI category for every new product developed
• Check ingredient-wise permissibility under FSSAI
• Validate claims with citations
• Flag risks to R&D upfront
• Deliver output in a clear format: Ingredient/Claim | Status | Citation | Action
• Escalate any out-of-spec result within 24 hours
• Upload approved reports to the FSSAI portal every 6 months

FSSAI License & Filing Tracker (monthly)

• Track all FSSAI licenses — ours, warehouse, Amazon, and manufacturer's — by status (Active/Renewal Due/Applied/Pending)
• Send renewal alerts at 60/30/15 days
• Publish a monthly filing summary

Internal Compliance Audits (1–2/month)

• Run site audits (manufacturing/warehouse/co-packer) against a standard checklist
• Report findings with risk level, corrective action, owner, and deadline
• Track every finding to closure

Legal Metrology Compliance (20–30 marketing statics/month)

• Ensure applicable Legal Metrology compliance for packaged products
• Review labels and packaging for mandatory declarations
• Coordinate registrations/declarations and maintain documentation
• Stay current on changes affecting packaging and product declarations

Product & Advertising Claims Compliance (30–35/month)

• Review health, nutritional, functional, and product-benefit claims across Amazon, website, performance marketing, social, influencer/creator content, packaging, and WhatsApp campaigns
• Identify unsupported, misleading, or non-compliant claims
• Validate claims against applicable regulations and available substantiation
• Suggest compliant alternatives that preserve the intended marketing message

Amazon & E-commerce Compliance (5–6 products/month)

• Review Amazon and other e-commerce listings from a regulatory lens — titles, bullets, descriptions, A+ content, images, claims
• Handle compliance queries, document requests, listing restrictions, and claim issues
• Support resolution of listing takedowns, warnings, and compliance flags
• Keep marketplace content aligned to regulatory requirements

Regulatory Documentation & Cross-Functional Coordination (monthly)

• Maintain organized records of licenses, approvals, test reports, audits, submissions, and correspondence
• Work closely with R&D, Quality, Product, Packaging, Marketing, Performance Marketing, E-commerce, and Operations
• Build compliance checklists and SOPs for internal teams
• Participate in new product launches from a regulatory perspective
• Review recent regulatory updates monthly

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology, Food & Nutrition, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
• At least 2 years of relevant experience
• Strong working knowledge of FSSAI regulations, Legal Metrology, and food/nutraceutical labeling requirements
• Experience reviewing product claims (health/nutrition/functional) against regulatory substantiation
• Comfortable working across cross-functional teams — R&D, Quality, Marketing, E-commerce
• Detail-oriented enough to own 60+ individual reviews a month across labels, claims, and listings without missing anything
• Experience with FSSAI portal filings and license tracking
• Comfortable using AI tools to speed up first drafts, regulatory research, checklists, and comparison tables — with the judgment to verify AI output against actual regulation text
• Based in or willing to work in-office in Hyderabad
