Job summary

Tata Communications Limited is seeking a Senior RHOSP Platform Architect & Engineer to own the architectural vision, production design, horizontal scaling, and lifecycle management of our virtualization platform. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven mastery of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), hypervisor tuning, and OpenStack Director / TripleO deployment mechanisms.
• Advanced proficiency with Ansible, Python scripting, Postman/APIs, etc.
• Experience: Technical/ Engineering degree with 9 years experience, including 5+ years hands-on RHOSP design, deployment, and maintenance in an enterprise or service-provider environment.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Design & Evolution: Design, build, and refine the core RHOSP architecture to support evolving business requirements.
• Documentation: Prepare and uphold engineering specifications and processes.
• Deployment & Scaling: Drive capacity expansion and compute cluster scaling.
• Lifecycle Management & Upgrades: Lead RHOSP version upgrades and transition from RHOSP to OpenShift.
• Automation and performance: Support orchestration/automation development and establish performance monitoring capabilities.
• Core Services Integration: Optimize storage, OVN/OVS, and high-performance DPDK networking paths.
• Platform Security & Compliance: Define hardening standards, RBAC policies, and encryption mechanisms across OpenStack endpoints and control planes.

As a Senior RHOSP Platform Architect & Engineer, the candidate will own the architectural vision, production design, horizontal scaling, and lifecycle management of virtualization platform. Operating at the core of our digital infrastructure, the candidate will ensure our Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP) and underlying applications deliver a high-performance environment that meets business objectives while adhering to strong engineering standards. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating upstream releases, driving non-disruptive platform upgrades, and scaling capacity ahead of tenant demand.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: Technical/ Engineering degree with 9 years experience, of which 5+ years of dedicated hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP) in a enterprise or service-provider environment
• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Administration, or equivalent practical experience
• Core Systems: Proven mastery of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), hypervisor tuning, and OpenStack Director / TripleO deployment mechanisms
• Automation: Advanced proficiency with Ansible, Python scripting, Postman/APIs, etc

Other Knowledge & Skills

• Certifications: Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenStack or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) preferred
• Networking: Deep knowledge of SDN topologies, OVN/OVS, BGP/MPLS, L2/L3 networking, and DPDK/SR-IOV data-path acceleration
• Life Cycle Management: Extensive experience with Storage and VNF lifecycle management and performance tuning
• Emerging Tech: Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP) and OpenStack Services on OpenShift (RHOSO) architecture transition

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Design & Evolution: Design, build, and continuously refine the core RHOSP architecture to support evolving business requirements, while adhering to engineering and operational standards
• Documentation: Ensure proper documentation, processes and engineering specifications are prepared and upkept
• Deployment & Scaling: Drive capacity expansion, executing compute cluster scaling
• Lifecycle Management & Upgrades: Own the release and patching pipeline, lead major RHOSP version upgrades, and eventual transition from RHOSP to OpenShift
• Automation and performance: Support orchestration/automation development effort, establish/deploy performance monitoring capabilities
• Core Services Integration: Architect and optimize key backend infrastructure, including storage, OVN/OVS, and high-performance DPDK networking paths
• Platform Security & Compliance: Define hardening standards, RBAC policies, and encryption mechanisms across OpenStack API endpoints, control plane, and hypervisor
