As a member of the electronics hardware team, the Hardware Design Engineer will be responsible for hands‑on design and development, architecting, lab testing, and troubleshooting electronic circuits and systems. You will join a team dedicated to raising the standards of advanced electronics and contribute to continuous improvement, building robust electronics impervious to diverse operational environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and development of digital and analog electronics for control of high electronic systems
- Start‑to‑finish ownership of control boards and other electronics—from specification to design, prototype, and manufacturing
- Collaborative work with mechanical, digital control, thermal design, and manufacturing test engineers
- Product‑level electrical design including component selection, branch circuit design, and insulation coordination
Requirements
- 2+ years of demonstrated successful experience in electrical engineering within a product design and manufacturing environment (high‑power Li‑Ion batteries a plus)
- Experience in supervising PCB layout for minimal stray inductance and capacitance, placement strategies for better manufacturability, power/signal plane definition, and EMC optimization
- Experience with Altium Designer for schematic & PCB layout design
- Start‑to‑finish ownership of control boards and other electronics—from specification to design, prototype, and manufacturing
- Experience with high‑current power semiconductor selection (IGBTs, MOSFETs, and diodes), gate drive, and protection circuit design
- Familiarity with schematic capture and power‑converter circuit simulation tools
- Experience in selecting and using DSPs, microcontrollers, and programmable logic devices and their peripheral circuitry (signal conditioning, board‑level power supplies)
- Knowledge of environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for automotive, industrial, and residential applications
- Collaborate with BMS HW/FW engineering team to successfully design, validate, and deploy testing tools
- Product‑level electrical design including component selection, branch circuit design, and insulation coordination
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in ECE/EEE or a relevant field
