Job summary

Vistra is hiring a Senior Associate – Finance in Mumbai, India. This full-time role reports to the Manager and covers regional finance activities. You will manage general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations, while supporting SAP S/4HANA reporting and financial analysis.

The ideal candidate will have 3–6 years in Record to Report, strong GAAP/IFRS knowledge, and proficiency in Office 365. A hybrid work setup and career growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• General Ledger Management and maintenance of chart of accounts.
• Post and review journal entries ensuring compliance with standards.
• Month-End Close activities and reconciliations (bank, intercompany, fixed assets).
• Prepare trial balance, financial statements and management reports.
• Support variance analysis and explain unusual trends to management.
• Assist SAP S/4HANA uploads and reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• General Ledger Management
• Post and review journal entries ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Maintain chart of accounts and ensure proper coding of transactions.
• Month-End Close Activities
• Perform accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
• Ensure timely closure of books and preparation of trial balance.
• Reconciliations
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., bank, intercompany, fixed assets).
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Assist in preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Support variance analysis and provide explanations for unusual trends.
• Supporting SAP S/4 HANA, SAP GR and SAP Analytics Cloud uploads and reporting requirements
• Analyse complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes

Key requirements:

• Excellent English communication skills - written and verbal
• Good accounting acumen and excellent Office 365 skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Good understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA or similar).
• Self-driven and highly motivated individual, able to work independently
• Solution oriented with strong analytical skills
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Positive, flexible personality, easy to adapt to changes and willing to undertake new tasks
• 3-6 years' experience, specifically in Record to Report
• Sound accounting knowledge
• SAP S/4 HANA knowledge will be an added advantage
