Job summary

TVS Next's Digital Engineering team seeks an experienced Frontend Leader to design and deliver enterprise-grade frontend applications, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, UX, Backend, QA, and DevOps teams.

You will architect scalable frontend systems, build design systems, integrate REST/GraphQL, optimize performance, and ensure accessibility and security while guiding SDLC and Agile ceremonies.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of frontend development experience, with at least 3 years as a Frontend Lead/Engineering Lead.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Ecommerce domain experience is a must.
• Hands-on with React.js and Next.js.
• Experience with Redux Toolkit, Context API, React Query (TanStack Query).
• Experience with UI frameworks like Material UI, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, Ant Design.
• Frontend architecture expertise: design systems, micro frontends, module federation, atomic design.
• Experience integrating REST, GraphQL, WebSockets.
• Frontend performance optimization: lazy loading, code splitting, tree shaking, memoization, bundle optimization.
• CI/CD and DevOps tools; Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
• Cloud exposure: Azure, AWS.
• Security: OAuth/OpenID, JWT, OWASP; accessibility WCAG/ARIA.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.
• Experience delivering enterprise-grade apps in Agile/Scrum; collaboration with distributed teams.

Job description

You will join our high-performance Digital Engineering team and lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade frontend applications. You will drive frontend architecture, engineering excellence, and modern UI development while mentoring engineering teams and collaborating with Product, UX, Backend, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver scalable digital solutions.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, responsive, and high-performance web applications.
• Build reusable, modular, and maintainable UI components using modern frontend technologies.
• Design and implement scalable frontend architectures using component-driven development principles.
• Build reusable design systems, component libraries, and shared UI frameworks.
• Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs, GraphQL services, and WebSocket-based applications.
• Optimize applications for maximum performance using lazy loading, code splitting, tree shaking, memoization, caching, and bundle optimization.
• Lead frontend engineering teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Mentor and coach frontend developers through technical guidance, code reviews, and best engineering practices.
• Define frontend architecture, coding standards, design principles, and reusable engineering frameworks.
• Drive architectural discussions, technical solutioning, and technology adoption initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, Backend Engineers, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality digital products.
• Translate wireframes, prototypes, and design systems into production-ready applications.
• Implement unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Debug production issues and continuously improve application stability, security, and maintainability.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG), security best practices, and enterprise coding guidelines.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Backlog Grooming, and Retrospectives.
• Estimate development effort, identify technical risks, and proactively drive mitigation strategies.
• Create architecture documentation, coding guidelines, technical specifications, and knowledge-sharing materials.
• Champion innovation by evaluating and adopting emerging frontend technologies, frameworks, and engineering practices.
• Support technical hiring, conduct technical interviews, and contribute to building high-performing engineering teams.

What We Seek In You

• 8–12 years of experience in Frontend Development, with a minimum of 3 years as a Frontend Technical Lead or Engineering Lead.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• eCommerce Domain experience is must.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with frontend frameworks including React.js, Next.js
• Strong experience implementing state management using Redux Toolkit, Context API, React Query (TanStack Query), Zustand (Good to Have)
• Experience working with modern UI frameworks including Material UI (MUI), Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, Ant Design
• Strong expertise in frontend architecture including Component-Based Architecture, Design Systems, Micro Frontend Architecture, Module Federation, Atomic Design Principles
• Hands‑on experience integrating applications with REST APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets
• Strong knowledge of frontend performance optimization techniques including Lazy Loading, Code Splitting, Tree Shaking, Memoization, Performance Profiling, Bundle Optimization
• Experience working with modern frontend build tools including Vite, Webpack, Babel, NPM, Yarn, PNPM
• Experience implementing automated testing using Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright
• Strong understanding of version control and DevOps practices using Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps Repositories
• Experience working with CI/CD platforms including Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins
• Exposure to cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS
• Strong understanding of frontend security including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT Authentication, OWASP Best Practices, Secure Frontend Development
• Experience implementing accessibility standards including WCAG, ARIA
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale web applications within Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience collaborating with globally distributed engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Storybook for Design System development.
• Experience working with Nx Monorepo or TurboRepo.
• Exposure to Figma and Adobe XD collaboration workflows.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf
• Experience working within Product Engineering organizations.
• Strong understanding of scalable frontend engineering practices and reusable component strategies.
