Job summary

TVS Next in Chennai is seeking a highly experienced Frontend Technical Lead to design, develop, and maintain scalable frontend apps using React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript. You will define frontend architecture, build reusable components, and drive design systems and micro frontend strategies.

You will mentor teams, participate in Agile delivery, and uphold coding standards while collaborating with Product, UX, Backend, QA, and DevOps.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of frontend development experience with 3+ years in lead roles.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven ability to lead frontend architecture, define design systems, and micro frontend strategies.
• Strong experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, and WebSockets.
• Proficient with React.js, Next.js, Angular; familiar with Redux Toolkit, Context API, React Query, Zustand, Material UI, Tailwind, Bootstrap, Ant Design.
• Knowledge of performance optimization, code-splitting, lazy loading, and tooling like Vite, Webpack.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, responsive frontend applications using React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Define frontend architecture, reusable component libraries, Design Systems, and Micro Frontend strategies while driving engineering best practices.
• Build secure, accessible, and high-performance user interfaces by integrating REST APIs, GraphQL, and WebSockets, with a focus on performance optimization.
• Mentor engineering teams through technical leadership, code reviews, architecture discussions, and collaboration with Product, UX, Backend, QA, and DevOps teams.
• Participate in Agile delivery, technical solutioning, effort estimation, and maintain architecture documentation and coding standards.

What We Seek In You

• 8–12 years of Frontend Development experience, including 3+ years as a Frontend Technical Lead or Engineering Lead.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS/SASS, Responsive Web Design, Progressive Web Applications (PWA), React.js, Next.js, Angular, Redux Toolkit, Context API, React Query, Zustand, Material UI, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, and Ant Design.
• Strong understanding of Component-Based Architecture, Design Systems, Micro Frontend Architecture, Module Federation, Atomic Design Principles, REST APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, and frontend performance optimization techniques including Lazy Loading, Code Splitting, Tree Shaking, Memoization, and Bundle Optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Vite, Webpack, Babel, Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, Microsoft Azure, AWS, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT Authentication, OWASP, WCAG, ARIA, Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, Sentry, and Application Insights.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with proven experience delivering enterprise-scale applications in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Storybook, Nx Monorepo, TurboRepo, Figma, Adobe XD, and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Windsurf.
• Experience working within Product Engineering organizations and building reusable Design Systems.
