Job summary

Payoneer is seeking a Backend Team Lead to drive design and delivery in a complex payment platform. You will lead an autonomous team, collaborate with Product, Design/UX, DevOps, and R&D, and spend about half your time hands-on.

You should have 5+ years as a server-side developer (C# or other OOP languages), 3+ years SQL, 2+ years observability, and 1+ year managerial experience, with a focus on scalable microservices and strong code quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of server-side development using C# or any OOP language.
• 3+ years of SQL experience (MSSQL/Oracle/MySql/PostgreSQL).
• 2+ years working with observability systems (Dynatrace, Grafana, etc.).
• 1+ year of managerial experience leading development of customer-facing products.
• Experience with messaging queues or streams (RabbitMQ/SQS/Kafka).
• Broad knowledge of OOP and design patterns.
• Experience with Microservices and engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

About the Role:

We're looking for a Backend Team Lead who is a tech-enthusiast with a drive for excellence, and an out-of-the-box mindset to satisfy business needs in a complex payment solution environment.

What you'll be spending your time on:

• Collaborate closely with Product, Design/UX, DevOps, and other R&D teams.
• 50% hands on design and development
• Lead an autonomous team of software engineers who are working closely with product management to achieve business goals.
• Put special focus on developing the team.
• Provide technical authority to your team by demonstrating a hands-on leadership style.
• Be responsible for the overall design, development, architecture, code quality, and production environment deployment of your team.

What we're looking for:

• 5 + years of experience as a server-side developer,using C# or any OOP Language, REST APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous communication with Queues/Streams (RabbitMQ and Kafka).
• 3+ years of experience with SQL (MSSQL/Oracle/MySql/PostgreSQL etc.).
• 2+ years experience with observability systems (Dynatrace, Grafana, etc.)
• 1+ years of managerial experience, leading development of customer-facing products- a must!
• Has built and scaled multi agent architectures in production
• Experience with messaging queues or streams such as RabbitMQ/SQS/Kafka.
• Broad knowledge of OOP and design patterns.
• Experience with Microservices.
• Experience in engineering best practices (writing unit test, code-reviews, testing coverage, agile methodologies).
• Team player attitude and mentality.
• Experienced and passionate about managing and growing people.
• Ambitious and eager to learn new things.
• B.E / BS in computer science or equivalent degree.
