Smart Work Consultants in Madurai invites an R&D professional with a strong background in agronomy to join our agriculture team. You will design and run laboratory, greenhouse, and field trials evaluating biostimulants, biofertilizers, and seaweed extracts.

The role emphasizes data analysis, regulatory support, and technical reporting, with opportunities to contribute to sustainable farming solutions and product development across crops.

Qualifications

• Hands-on R&D in laboratory and field trials.
• Trial design skills: CRD/RCBD.
• Experience with biostimulants, biofertilizers, seaweed extracts.
• Data analysis using SPSS, R, OPSTAT or GraphPad Prism.
• Knowledge of agricultural regulatory guidelines (FCO biostimulant).

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory experiments, greenhouse studies, pot trials, and field efficacy trials.
• Evaluate biostimulants, seaweed extracts, biofertilizers, and plant growth stimulants.
• Prepare trial protocols, SOPs, COA, and technical reports.
• Conduct application trials to address customer queries and field complaints.
• Support regulatory documentation and product registrations.
• Analyze data and prepare technical presentations for R&D and product teams.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, consumables, and safety standards.

Job Description:

Are you passionate about agricultural research, crop science, and sustainable farming solutions? Join our R&D team to evaluate innovative agricultural products, conduct crop trials, and support the development of effective, sustainable agro-inputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory experiments, greenhouse studies, pot trials, and field efficacy trials.




• Evaluate agricultural biostimulants, seaweed extracts, biofertilizers, and plant growth stimulants.




• Measure plant growth, germination, root/shoot development, biomass, and crop stress tolerance.




• Screen microbial consortia and biostimulant formulations for efficacy, compatibility, and crop safety.




• Prepare trial protocols, SOPs, data sheets, Certificate of Analysis (COA), and technical reports.




• Conduct application trials to address customer technical queries and field complaints.




• Support regulatory documentation and agricultural product registration requirements.




• Analyze research data and prepare technical presentations for R&D and product teams.




• Maintain laboratory equipment, consumables, and safety standards.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Agronomy, Plant Physiology, and Crop Science


• Hands-on experience in laboratory research and crop trials


• Knowledge of agricultural biostimulants, biofertilizers, and seaweed extracts


• Trial design skills - CRD / RCBD


• Data analysis using SPSS, R, OPSTAT, or GraphPad Prism


• Familiarity with laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometers and chlorophyll meters


• Technical report writing, documentation, and analytical skills


• Knowledge of agricultural regulatory guidelines, including FCO biostimulant requirements


• Willingness to conduct field and greenhouse assessments

Qualification

? M.Sc. Agriculture – Agronomy / Plant Physiology / Soil Science / Agricultural Chemistry / Agricultural Microbiology / Biotechnology.

B.Sc. Agriculture or Horticulture background preferred.

Experience

• Experienced candidates with hands-on agricultural R&D experience.
