The ideal candidate holds MBBS and MD/DNB in Radiodiagnosis/Radiology, with valid PCPNDT registration and strong patient communication skills to support cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
  • MD/DNB Radiodiagnosis/Radiology with valid registration.
  • Valid PCPNDT registration/authorization wherever applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and interpret diagnostic radiology examinations as per the centre's scope of services.
  • Review patient history, clinical indications, prior reports, and relevant investigations before reporting.
  • Provide accurate, clinically relevant, and timely radiology reports.
  • Perform and report Ultrasound and Doppler studies, including breast, obstetric and other ultrasound examinations.
  • Interpret X-ray and CT/MRI studies as applicable to the Radiologist's qualifications and responsibilities.
  • Perform image-guided diagnostic procedures within approved scope and clinical privileges.
  • Ensure appropriate clinical correlation and communication of critical findings to the physician team.
  • Maintain records, turnaround times, and coordinate with radiographers and staff.
  • Ensure PCPNDT compliance and radiation safety.

Job Description Consultant Radiologist

Position: Consultant Radiologist
Department: Radiology
Location: Diagnostics Centre
Reporting To: Director – Radiology / Group Medical Director

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Female Consultant Radiologist to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging and reporting services at our diagnostics centre. The role involves interpretation of radiological investigations, patient interaction where required, clinical correlation, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting in accordance with established clinical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic radiology examinations as per the centre's scope of services.
  • Review patient history, clinical indications, previous reports, and relevant investigations before reporting.
  • Provide accurate, clinically relevant, and timely radiology reports.
  • Perform and report Ultrasound and Doppler studies, including:
    • General ultrasound
    • Abdomen and pelvis
    • Small parts
    • Thyroid
    • Breast ultrasound
    • Obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound
    • Colour Doppler studies
    • Other ultrasound examinations as per expertise and centre requirements.
  • Interpret X-ray and CT/MRI studies, as applicable to the Radiologist's qualifications, expertise, and assigned responsibilities.
  • Perform image-guided diagnostic procedures within the approved scope of practice and clinical privileges.
  • Ensure appropriate clinical correlation and recommend further imaging or investigation when clinically indicated.
  • Identify and promptly communicate critical or significant findings to the referring physician/clinical team.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of patient records.
  • Maintain defined reporting turnaround times and support efficient patient workflow.
  • Coordinate with radiographers, technicians, sonographers, front-office teams, and other medical professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable PCPNDT requirements for ultrasound services, wherever applicable.
  • Follow radiation safety, infection control, patient safety, and quality-control protocols.
  • Participate in clinical audits, peer reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental meetings.
  • Support the training and clinical development of radiology technicians and junior medical staff, wherever required.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and organizational policies.
  • Support the centre in improving radiology services, protocols, patient experience, and operational efficiency.
Female Radiology Services

The Radiologist may be required to provide specialised services for female patients, including:

  • Breast and breast-related ultrasound examinations.
  • Obstetric ultrasound.
  • Gynaecological and pelvic ultrasound.
  • Antenatal imaging, as per qualifications and applicable regulations.
  • Other female-specific diagnostic imaging services within the Radiologist's approved scope.
Qualifications
  • MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
  • MD/DNB in Radiodiagnosis/Radiology or an equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Valid registration with the State Medical Council.
  • Valid PCPNDT registration/authorization, wherever applicable to the role and centre.
  • Relevant experience in diagnostic radiology and ultrasound reporting will be preferred.
