Job summary

Sensata Technologies in India is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to own end-to-end RADAR algorithms, platform integration, and system software for automotive electronics. You will design, analyze, and validate software in a dynamic, process-driven environment, collaborating across teams to deliver robust radar solutions.

The role demands strong signal processing, C/C++/Python for embedded systems, DSP concepts, and experience with RTOS and agile methods.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize RADAR signal processing algorithms.
  • FFT and spectral analysis, beamforming, angle estimation.
  • Object detection, classification, tracking (including multi-object tracking).
  • Performance analysis and addressing real-world issues with customers and colleagues.
  • Support ASPICE and Agile/Scrum processes.

Job description

As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of RADAR algorithms, platform integration, system-level software development, and validation of various automotive electronics projects. You will work within a continually evolving world class development process in a dynamic and exciting market.

General Responsibilities
  • Design and understand all software and hardware systems to work towards new design development.
  • Familiarity with analog & digital circuits
  • Ensuring and testing that all functions are working correctly.
  • Handles the troubleshooting for software and hardware functions.
  • Identifies and problem solving on any issues that may occur during the scope of the process.
  • Creating and updating documents to ensure the understanding of any procedures.
  • Collaborating with other groups of engineers and stakeholders to ensure successful design and implementation.
  • Maintains and complies with regulations and procedures.
  • Translate customer application and system requirements into functional software design requirements and solve challenging problems through software development.
  • Analyses the existing software and improving the processes.
Experience / Qualifications
  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
Key Responsibilities include
  • Design, develop, and optimize signal processing algorithms for RADAR Automotive applications
  • FFT and spectral analysis
  • Beamforming and angle estimation
  • Object detection and classification
  • Target tracking and multi-object tracking
  • Conduct detailed performance analysis
  • Provide Technical Leadership in working with colleagues and customers to develop and implement enhancements to address real world performance issues
  • Complete assigned individual and team tasks
  • Support advanced development process activities (analysis, design, reviews, verification testing)
  • Liaising with customers and internal departments in support of project activities.
  • Working according to all agreed team procedures, including ASPICE and Agile/Scrum methods
Technical Essential Skill
  • Strong background in Signal Processing for RADAR or LiDAR products.
  • Hands-on experience with FFT, beamforming, detection, and tracking algorithms.
  • Experience programming in C/C++ /Python for embedded systems.
  • Experience with DSP, SNR, Signal-to-clutter analysis and real-time embedded software.
  • Knowledge of RTOS concepts, task scheduling, and inter-process communication
Desirable Skill
  • Experience with FMCW radars, Kalman filters, and detection classification.
  • Experience with NXP Racerunner Microcontrollers
  • Demonstrated ability to document implemented algorithms.
